Pour Your Heart Out- Shelby

This is my first time participating with Shell in her Pour Your Heart out meme.
I'm usually pretty private about most things. But this has been weighing on my heart lately.
As Shell says:
just a brief reminder that everyone linking is pouring their hearts out and we should all be respectful in our comments. ;)

This is my niece Shelby. The pic was taken a few years ago. She's about 5 '3" and if she weighs 90 lbs I would be surprised. I have blogged about her many times pre-blogger so a few of my friends will know who I'm talking about.

Shelby age 9 or 10

She looks more like me than my kids ever thought of.

Shelby,Kelly,Jonathan

She's my brothers daughter and she has had to grow up fast. Shelby has always lived with my mom or her nanny (her moms mom) and has practically raised her sisters who are all younger than her. She will be 18 in May.
She's quiet, stubborn and beautiful.

Approximately a month ago we found out she was pregnant.
The "dad" (I use that term loosely) is not wanting anything to do with the baby. She is scared and won't hardly talk about the baby with us and my heart hurts for her so bad. Her baby is due 2 months after Drex gets here. They'll be 2nd cousins growing up together.
I just wanna take her in my arms and hold her tight and tell her everything will work out. It's hard enough being a teenager but being a single teenage mom-to-be is being pretty rough on her. We have all told her we are there for her but she seems to feel all alone...how do we get her to realize it's going to be ok. I know it's not going to be easy but it will be ok.

I love you my pickle!

ALL ABOUT MEme MONDAY: My back porch.

with MommyBrain and SupahMommy

What's your most favorite part of your home?

Is it a special reading nook?
Is it the broom closet you hide in ?
Is it your drawer pulls in the kitchen that took 34 years to re-do?
Is it your deck on a summer night?

Show us in a picture and tell us in words.

What's your most favorite part of your home.

Britt and I on swing. I love porch swings!
I look rough I had been riding 4 wheelers with the kids.

My favorite part of my house in my huge back porch my hubby built. It goes almost the length of my house and we spend lots of time out there. Sorry the pics are not the best but I haven't gotten it in shape for Spring yet and these were taken last year when Kel came home.

The girls sitting out there visiting.
Just some of my family when Kel came home.
This is the best pic I have of the porch.

Right now Britt is outside building me a sunroom....
*sigh*
 I do love that man!

RAMBLINGS- BIG surprise coming up!

Today is a nasty day in my small part of South Arkansas. Last night the storms rolled in and brought cooler temps and lots of thunder and lightening. My poor Daisy was terrified, running around the bedroom trying to find a way to get on the bed. Remember she's blind and when stressed she doesn't have good direction judgement.

2 more weeks and my youngest will be home!! I am so excited to see her. She lives in Kentucky and that's a long ways from mama!

Today I got the new mocha frappe from McDonalds. It was a disappointment to me. It was good but tasted like it was made with cheap ice cream or something...blah.
I love sonics coffee desserts though.

COMING IN APRIL
In April I would like to do a personal giveaway. I am so close to 100 followers and I know this doesn't mean a lot to folks who have hundredS or even thousands but it's exciting to me so when Kelly leaves after the 11th I'm going to do a followers giveaway. I'm not sure what the prize will be but I promise it will be good.

**If anyone would like to donate prizes I'm all about that! I would even run your blog or shop button at the top of my blog free for a month!**

I AM NOT to proud to BEG!

So stay tuned....

Now to go relax...although I need to vote...I hate this part of playing Survivor!

Centipedes yes...millions of them, from little bitty to huge.
No way nohow am I gonna pick one of them up!

POST IT NOTE TUESDAY!

Adventures of a Wanna-Be Supah Mommy
Click it and join us...better late than never!

Ten Thoughts Tuesday

1. I have had robin eggs on my brain today. Not the kind birds lay but the kind you buy at walmart. The kind I DO NOT need but want.

2. The dance were doing for the Just Dance your bloggy off contest is slow to me. I'm not feeling it.

3 Survivor comes back on thus week and if I'm not mistaken it is on Wed. night this week.
4. I need to find a bug. We have to let one crawl on us for 5 seconds and video it. This week who ever gets immunity gets to also give immunity to one other person.

5. Kelly is coming home the 8th of April for a few days! I'm really excited. I haven't seen her since Christmas and need to get my arms around her.

6. There is 2 things I'm wanting to try. Fortunately Britt had all the things I needed to try them so I don't have to buy the tools. One is soldered jewelry and the other is personalized jewelry, where you stamp whatever it is you want on the metal.

7. I won a giveaway!! A $50 giftcard to CSN stores from Kmama. I'm so excited to get some "free" shopping in for Drex.

8. I finally finished Under the Dome by Stephen King. It took 2 weeks and a day. Over 1000 pages. I really liked it but I'm a big King fan and like all his books.

9. I'm suppose to be getting a TB test and have put it off for 2 weeks now. I have this week and next to get it done. I'm such a baby about needles!

10. Britt has the sunroom all measured and roped off and is going to start putting blocks down tomorrow. It should go pretty fast from there.I am going to love that room!

ALL ABOUT MEme MONDAY-I must have a POGO stick!

with MommyBrain and SupahMommy

I MUST have it Monday.

What was it?
A benetton shirt?
Converse sneakers?
Jelly shoes?

There was ONE item that you wanted when you were a youth.

What was it?

You know, the one your begged and pleaded for.
The one you sold your soul for?

Show us a pic if you can and tell us a story about how you got it.

The one thing I can remember wanting so bad I could taste it when I was a kid was
a POGO stick!
Cartoon: Jumper Pogostick (medium) by neudecker tagged für,bündnis, boy, children, comic, cartoon, character, kids, portrait, illustration, pogostick, jumper, beziehung, familie

I can remember asking and begging for one for what seemed like years but I'm sure it was just months. I do remember mama was still married to Nolan (my birth dad) so I had to be around 9 years old.
I did get it... for my birthday I think.
I spent many hours trying to learn how to jump and I never quite mastered it.
BUT
 I loved my pogo stick!

Saturday Sloppy Seconds...or something like that.

I think it was Supah that would do Sloppy seconds...or someone I don't know. If it was you let me know and I'll give the right credit.
I posted this before Britt and I got married so it had to be in the Summer of 2006. I got tons of comments on it....so many that I posted it again when 360 shut down and got a lot more comments....so it's going up it's 3rd time.

To make you think...

This is a repost......I thought I'd get some "new" thoughts on the last quote. If you have already commented on it and it means something different now, let me know.

“There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout:
This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me... or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision.
When you are strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad - you will be amazed at the opportunities that life presents you.”

“I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.”

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

“What makes life worth living is knowing that one day you'll wake up and find the person that makes you happier than anything in the whole world. So don't ever lose hope and give up, everything turns out okay and the good guy always wins.”

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.”

“Footfalls echo in the memory, Down the passage which we did not take, Towards the door we never opened Into the rose-garden.”

What does the last quote say to you???

Supahs Survivor Challenge 5- Peek-A-Boo!

W e are on week 5 of Supahs Survivor and I'm still on the "island."
Our challenge this week was to video our self scaring someone.
I chose to scare my nephew Jonathan.
I was driving by the school and seen all the cars so I knew I had just enough time to race to mama's and hide in the closet. I had to hide my car and run to the house. My dad saw me and knew what I was up to. He just yelled "Your EVIL!"
:) He was playing.
So here's my video and remember to cheer for JT!
Go Heroes!!

Wanna see more funny...I mean scary videos?
Go to
SUPAHS ISLAND
and check them out!

A special thanks to CHIEF for helping me with my hair problems!!

Weekend Ramblings

Daylight savings time? I'm not happy with it right this minute but I will be this evening. I love when the time changes and it stays daylight until after 7!
I remember when the girls were little I didn't love it so much because it messed with bedtime.

So yesterday Nikki and I went shopping in Little Rock for maternity clothes. The town she lives in (South of LR) and I'm from do not have 1 store that we could find that sold maternity clothes. We tried all the major stores and all of them said "We don't carry them." WHAT? That's just crazy.

So we end up in Target and she gets 1 pair of work pants and 1 pair of jeans for $60. That's a lot of money for something your only going to wear for 4 months. Next we go to TJMaxx and walk out empty-handed. Burlington Coat Factory was around the corner and we decided to go there.
Let me just say if you need maternity clothes...go to BCF. Nikki walked out of thee with 2 pair work pants,2 pair jeans and 2 shirts and only paid $52! She's taking the other pants back to Target.

Speaking of Target....In my Ode to the 80's I mentioned jellies. How I bought them for my girls and they made their feet sweaty, stinky and dirty. Well look what I found in Target.
IMG00358.jpg
YES! It's jellies!
They were like 12.99 for these baby shoes.
Seems like everything comes back around.

I'm WAY behind on blogs so I'm outta here to play catch up.

ODE to the 80"s!

This week at Amber and Meg's birthday bash the challenge is 80's Flashback week.

I was a child of the 80's but it was also the decade I met my daughters dad and got married and had 2 daughters....it was a very busy decade for me.

I remember a lot of favorites from back like....

Madonna's song "Like a Virgin"
I remember my 2 yr old sitting in her car seat singing this song at the top of her lungs. HAHA! I love this memory.

Michael Jacksons "Thriller"
Nikki loved this song too. She would get real quiet and her eyebrows would stay up to her hairline the whole time it was on. Her little hands would be balled into fist and when it would go off she would say "AGAIN!"

Tight rolling jeans.
My brother was an expert at this, matter of fact he just recently stopped doing it!

I NEVER did master this.

Rarely did I have big hair...too busy with babies to mess with it much.
That pic is just wrong.

My kids still joke about jellies.
What was I thinking? They made their feet dirty, sweaty and stinky!

In 1984 (I think) I got my first VHS player. Remember those? I bought it for one movie! I went to the theater 7 times to see this movie.
I took my toddler with me!
I loved this guy and his music more than Michael Jackson!
*gasp*

I still have  that record...you know those black vinyl things played to make music.

Last but not least my 2 favorite cartoons from the 80's
and

*Just kidding about my brother and tight rolling until recently...it was mid 90's when he stopped!*
