Monday Minute

1 - Have you or a family member joined the military?
2 - Have you or a family member served his/her country in times of war?
3 - What's your favorite BBQ food?
4 - Do you fart in public?
5 - What's the one question that if it shows up on a Monday Minute, you refuse to take part?

1 - Have you or a family member joined the military?

I have a cousin who recently got back from Iraq. He was over there for almost a year. He's stationed in TX. right now and expecting his first baby.

2 - Have you or a family member served his/her country in times of war?

Same cousin as above...people who say we aren't at war are wrong in my opinion.

3 - What's your favorite BBQ food?

Chicken...legs to be exact with Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce. YUM!

4 - Do you fart in public?

Where did this come from?
No.

5 - What's the one question that if it shows up on a Monday Minute, you refuse to take part?

Probably something that has to do with politics. I have my opinion and will not argue with someone over it. My opinion is usually much more to the conservative side than a lot of folks.

Now head to Ian's and play along!

Mission Monkey Donations

Here are some hair accessories and one brooch I have made for the Mission Monkey Fundraiser. A lot of talented and smart people are donating items and participating in a different ways. I wish I could do more but this is what I have and I hope some of you would want some enough to go to Ian's and see how you can get in on this.

The headbands are shabby rolled roses on plastic headbands.
s

The green flower and the one below that is brown and white have an alligator clip on the back and can be clipped in your hair or on a purse, jacket or where ever you would like to wear it.

This is one of my favorites. Its pinks and greens with tulle and has a pin on the back to wear as a brooch. It really dresses up a plain t-shirt.

Here are some other donation pages...go by and check out what they are donating.

You may donate any amount of money via PayPal as it's linked directly to Michelle's bank account.  However, in order to be a part of the raffle, this is how that's going to go.  If you donate the following, you get the subsequent number of entries:

  • $10 - 2 entries
  • $20 - 5 entries
  • $30 - 10 entries
  • $40 - 15 entries

I know you have heard of TOOTHSOAP!

We have a winner!! BITT OF RAW wins!! You have an email coming soon! Please respond within 48 hours.

If you have been around the blogging world for any amount of time I know you have heard of Toothsoap....but have you tried it?
I first heard about Toothsoap from Supah and I admit my first thoughts were I don't know about this toothSOAP business...that's how I kept seeing it in my mind with the word soap being in caps. I mean I could hear someones mama (never my mama cause I was a good kid...well except for that one time but we won't talk about that) telling them "I'm gonna clean your mouth out with SOAP!"
So I was not interested...... Then I won some.

The day it came in the mail I was determined to try it. I mean everyone said it was wonderful and it made you feel like you just left the dentist for a cleaning and it tasted good. I'm not gonna lie it did take me a time or two using it to get use to it. But you know what...it was good and it did make me feel like I had just left the dentist for a cleaning and it made my mouth feel better. I get up several times a night (pbfttt! to those who can sleep the night through!) and my mouth feels nasty. (don't smirk you know your mouth is nasty too after sleeping) Well with Toothsoap mine is not nasty feeling any more! I use the Toothsoap, brightener and swish and I feel cleaner...not just minty tasting like regular toothpaste makes you feel.

I for one LOVE Toothsoap and Karen who invented it (You can go HERE to see one reason I love Karen!) and I have won several bottles lately so I want to share with my readers! I have a bottle of spearmint Toothsoap to giveaway along with a bottle of brightener.

Have you heard of Zany Dezines?

I just wanted to post about Brittany and Amber over at Zany Dezines. These two young girls are really talented and I have had the pleasure of getting makeovers from both of them!
First Brittany made over Kssnnikkel for me to hold me until I could win a make-over from Amber...I'm cheap like that. I loved what she did so much I didn't try to win a makeover.

Then Amber made over Letters to my GRANDbaby. I told her I wanted the alphabets and I didn't want it babyish and I liked robots. She gave me exactly what I wanted. I won this makeover from Supah.

If you haven't met these girls please go visit Zany Dezines and tell them Lisa sent ya. They can help with makeovers, card designs, buttons,headers...probably about anything you need...they might even do twitter backgrounds.

Ramblings.....

I figured since my Wordless Wednesday (which is never wordless) messed up and didn't show the pic I would add a quick post to let yall know I have several giveaways coming up. I have good Fathers Day giveaway coming soon also.
Right now I have the 2 book giveaways that will be ending soon so if your interested you can find them HERE and HERE. They are both really good books. I didn't want to put either one of them down. The first one ends in 2 days! Low entries.

This weekend is our family reunion. I'm really excited since I will be seeing family I haven't seen in years! When my memaw passed away she had over 100 grandkids so you can imagine how many people could possibly show up.

Next weekend is Nikki's baby shower. She is miserable yall. Her feet and legs are so swollen (or as we say in Arkansas "She's all swolled up") and her back hurts. I know she'll be glad when Drex gets here and she can wear normal clothes again.

Kelly will be back home tomorrow to live!!!!

Ok I'm out...got to try to read some blogs before my time is up!

Wordless Wednesday

These post seem to never be wordless.... This is Alex. She went to school at the academy at my church. I volunteered for 2 years and she would ride to school with me since she lived right down the road. We became very close then she moved to KY and now goes to Bible college there. She was in town visiting her boyfriend who happens to be my BFF's son. Taken Friday night at graduation.

The Last Christian by David Gregory *book review and giveaway*

x

The Last Christian by author David Gregory is a book that I did not want to put down. It takes place in 2088 and our world is totally different. Christianity has died out and it's not so far fetched in my mind that this is happening right now.
Also in the book brain transplants are happening, which could possibly eliminate physical death. People spend more time in VR (virtual reality) than they do in real life. Almost everyone has access to The Grid (kind of like the internet but very advanced), through neural implants.

The main character Abigail Caldwell grew up in the jungles of Papua New Guinea as a missionary's daughter. For thirty-four years she had never left the jungle until a strange disease swept through her village. In an attempt to help them, she left her people and traveled by canoe to a civilized area looking for help. Sadly she was too late but had a 16 year old message waiting for her from her grandparents. In the message she learns she is to be a missionary to the United States.

This book is a good futuristic thriller and I would recommend it to everyone.

I have one copy to give away, if your interested you can leave a comment telling me what your favorite book is that you have read recently. That way I can get an idea of some new books to read!
Giveaway ends June 1

This book was provided for review by the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group.I also received a copy for a giveaway for my readers.*

Monday Minute *snort* Edition

1 - Do you *snort*?

I have been known too...but not on a regular basis. If you get me to laughing real hard one might slip out!

2 - Our friend, has a nickname and it's Daffy.  What's your nickname?

I have several nicknames. Some bloggy friends call me kssnnikkel. My mama calls me Sister. I have cousins that call me Leese. One brother has been to known to call me Essie May (shut up!) and another brother that called me Dodo...a long time ago and I'm so glad he grew out of that. He would embarrass the crap outta me.

3 - Do you know sign language?

No...well very little. I can sign Jesus loves me,or most of it. I plan on learning though because we are going to teach Drex to sign.

4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?

I'm washing dishes and Linzy comes walking in.
Linzy- My mom took me to see Avatar.
Me- Cool, did you like it.
Linzy- Yeah it was actually better than I thought it would be.
Me- I want to see it too, I'll get it on netflix though.
Linky- *blank stare* ....... ooook

He ends every conversation with oooook. I don't know if that's a period or what. I'll be cooking or something and he'll just stand there for a bit and then say oook...nothing else. I have begin saying ok back just because it seems like I should say something. Life with a 15 year old!

5-  Do you sleep with electronic devices - i.e. laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, etc?

I don't actually sleep with my blackberry (ok..I have been known too but not normally) but it is close by.....very close by.
No! I do not need an intervention.

I'm linking with Ian, you should go link up too! Monday Minute

Prayers needed-

Back in January I posted about David Curlin, a firefighter in my hometown and a friend of my brothers that had been injured in a fire. you can read about it here.
My brother texted me this morning to tell me he had passed away. It's so sad that he has been fighting this injury since January and lost that fight. A couple weeks ago my niece said "Mr David's getting better!"
Please remember his family in your prayers.

**I might be hit and miss since our internet time is almost gone until the 29th. I really love living in the country but hate the limited internet we have. I'm trying to get some post scheduled so yall don't forget me!**

*also there are a book giveaway and 3 coupon giveaways at Blonde Moms right now.*

Please help! Mission Monkey

Hello blog-world!  I am participating in what's known around the world as Mission Monkey day!  What is Mission Monkey you ask?  Well, there's this blogger friend of ours known as Pixie Momma, aka Michelle.  Michelle has a little girl, or Monkey as she's known by who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.  To learn more about it, click here. Monkey is a sweet little 16 month old girl.  She doesn't deserve this.  Nobody deserves this.

But the good news is that Monkey only has Stage 1 (low risk).  The bad news is the medical bills are mounting and the Physical Therapy (starts today) isn't covered by insurance.  Michelle is using the donated money to offset medical bills.  She will donate and unused portion to another family dealing with the same issue.

This is why the blogging universe is banning together like never before to rally around Michelle and Monkey to provide support.  In addition to further entice you to lend your hand, and donate to the cause, we have over 50 items that have been donated.  Many bloggers are hosting these fabulous giveaways and all you need to win one of these items is just one raffle ticket.

* What is your biggest pet peeve?

* What is your definition of success?
* If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for?

#1
I'm sure I have! I was once a kid you know...now as an adult I can't say I have. My ex-inlaws had this stuff in their pool that would turn red if someone peed in the pool....I always think about that when I'm in a pool and need to pee.
#2
I think it is most peoples...My biggest pet peeve is someone lying to me! I might not ever call you out on it but I never forget and will always 2nd guess every word you utter.

#3
My blog title  has always been my email addy. KSSN is from a big country radio station in my state, KSSN 96. My kids are named Nikki and Kelly so Kssn+Nik+Kel = I love KSSNNIKKEL pronounced kissin nik kel.

#4
Success to me is doing what you love to do with who you love doing it with and not starving in the meantime.
*whatever your doing*

#5
IF I was famous I would wanna be famous for inventing something that would cure cancer or any other or all deadly diseases.
...especially in children like Monkey.

FRIDAY FOLLOW

I'm BACK!!
I have been sick! I can't remember the last time I felt this bad. It started with a sore throat and went down hill from there. I'm sure I missed all sorts of exciting and crazy things in the few days I've been gone....I have decided I don't even wanna know. I'm going to pick up where my reader starts and I will start fresh because trying to backtrack will do me no good. I'll get over-whelmed and frustrated and blogging shouldn't be about that.

Just a few flowers I'm working on to make into headbands and clips for Mission Monkey. The pictures are terrible! I will add better pics when they are completed.

Monday Minute...for an adorable lil Monkey.

Ian over at The Daily Dose of Reality Has Monday Minute and this is my first time participating. This weeks edition is for Monkey!

Ian is setting something up and will tell us about it Wednesday on his blog so make sure and check it out.

Photobucket

Look at that sweet precious face...she's only 16 months old.
She has neuroblastoma.
So make sure and check back Wednesday at Ian's blog to see if there's anyway you can help.

On to Monday Minute....

1 - How old do you act?
I think I pretty much act my ago...although I'm 43 and feel about 38 most days...on bad ones 73...so you pick BUT when I'm around kids I'm into whatever they are doing. I love racing with them...and cheating.
2 - As far back as you can remember, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher...I volunteered for a few years and it's hard work. I don't want to be one any more and have mucho respect for the men and women who do teach!
3 - If you were to write a book based on your life, what would the title be?
Me and Mine

4 - What's something that you do that's considered "childish" by most?
Hmmm I really ...really am mature. I do make faces at my nieces and nephews...ok at my dad too. I'm normally not too whiney but I have been feeling HORRIBLE for 2 days and probably have been a bit.
5 - The last question isn't a question.  Write a story of a time of when you or someone you know overcame great adversity.
Mines been posted before but I have a friend who almost 1.5 years ago within 2 weeks went from working 16 hour days as an RN to walking with a walker. She went to countless doctors and became a human sponge she had so many test ran. I'm surprised she doesn't glow. It took over a year for her to FINALLY get diagnosed. She was diagnosed with MD and has begin taking shots for the MD. She has went from walker to cane and has recently even started driving again. She should be going back to work soon.
