My blog, Christmas and internet

It seems like forever since I have actually blogged! Between our internet limit and arthritis I just haven't wanted to get online. The more I move the less I hurt....maybe I need a laptop and a treadmill...bet I can get a lot done then!
Britt went an got a new internet plan so we now have 10 GBs which doubles what we had, if we run out now someones just done to much! He also got the verizon mifi so we can have internet to 5 things at once but we haven't figured out how to use it yet so we still unhook from one to go to another.

I think the only resolution I have this year is to blog more. I miss it and I really miss the friendships I have formed on here. I do read your blogs still n the bb but rarely comment. Bad friend!

Chevy snoozing after all the excitement! He's as big as Drex!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great one. Christmas Eve was kinda busy since we had to go to my mILs and then to my moms but it was so much fun it was worth the body being wore out! Kelly and Drex stayed with us on the 23rd and went to MILs on the 24th. Nikki and Chris had to work. We played dirty santa and I got a wrap/blanket/throw and LOVE it! Its furry on one side and red on the other. Drex got a dog that sings Jesus loves me and he loved that. I sing that song to him all the time so he knew it.

We also played Dirty Santa at my parents and there was a lot of us so it was loads of fun. I got a zebra throw and a bath and body fragrance thingy that plugs into the wall...smells good! I made hats for the nieces and nephews and they seemed to go over well.
My nephew Ty with his hat on. That's his dad and my brother behind him,Steve

Me (looking wore out!)Drex and Britt

Christmas day it was our kids and Drex's other set of grandparents at my house. We grilled and opened presents and Drex sat up for the first time! He acted like it was no big deal until we got excited and started yelling yay! and he grinned and kicked his feet and fell over. It was nice to share his first Christmas with his nana and grampa, hopefully that's something that can become a tradition.
KK and Drex chewing on their fingers, his favorite past time.

Ok I'm going to visit a few blogs and then cook supper...hoping I haven't lost any friends!!

Book Review: Nightingale (Blog Tour) and giveaway info

About Nightingale:
Esther Lange doesn’t love her fiancé—she’s trapped in an engagement after a mistaken night of passion.

Still, she grieves him when he’s lost in battle, the letters sent to her by the medic at his side giving her a strange comfort, so much that she strikes up a correspondence with Peter Hess, an Iowa farmboy. Or is he?  Peter Hess is not who he seems. Indeed, he’s hiding a secret, something that could cost them both their lives, especially when the past comes back to life. A bittersweet love song of the home front war between duty and the heart...a battle where only one will survive.

Don’t miss book 1 in this stand-alone collection, Sons of Thunder.

About Susan May Warren:
Susan May Warren is the RITA award-winning author of twenty-four novels with Tyndale, Barbour and Steeple Hill. A four-time Christy award finalist, a two-time RITA Finalist, she’s also a multi-winner of the Inspirational Readers Choice award, and the ACFW Book of the Year.

Susan's larger than life characters and layered plots have won her acclaim with readers and reviewers alike. A seasoned women’s events and retreats speaker, she’s a popular writing teacher at conferences around the nation and the author of the beginning writer’s workbook: From the Inside-Out: discover, create and publish the novel in you!. She is also the founder of www.MyBookTherapy.com, a story-crafting service that helps authors discover their voice.

Susan makes her home in northern Minnesota, where she is busy cheering on her two sons in football, and her daughter in local theater productions (and desperately missing her college-age son!) A full listing of her titles, reviews and awards can be found at: www.susanmaywarren.com.

My Review
I've never been a fan of any books that take place during war time and this book takes place during WWII, the difference in other books I've read and this one is that I loved this book.
I read at night before I go to sleep and it only took two nights to read this book...I kept getting up and getting a drink, washing my face, whatever to stay awake. I did not want to put it down.
I loved the way it is written because I really felt involved with the characters. I found myself talking to them...NO! don't you dare! and best of all YES!
(what? Yall don't talk to yourself?
.....quit lying!)
It has a a history in it that I never really heard much of which includes the German POW camps that I enjoyed learning more about.

This book is about mistakes, love found, love lost, secrets and friendships. Sounds like real life...
I recommend Nightingale to everyone!

It doesn't matter if your child is 4 or 24...when you take them to the ER they are still your baby.

At 1am my phone rang last night...it was Kelly telling me she didn't have feeling in the left side of her face and it was drooping and she was scared. Of course first thing I thought was stroke but the more I talked to her I started thinking nerves or a bug bite. She didn't wanna go to ER. I told her to put a hot rag on it and call me if anything changes.
....I go back to sleep
At 730ish AM my phone rings and scares me again. Its Nikki saying she's staying with Kel cause her face is worse, I tell her I'm on my way and call my brother. He is a paramedic and I always use his knowledge to my advantage..... He says it sounds like Bells Palsy and get her to dr before it gets worse.

So I get Kel to ER and it was the shortest time I have ever spent in the ER at our hospital. They call her to get her vitals and as soon as they hear what's wrong she's put in a wheelchair and taken to trauma and hooked up to heart monitor. I was scared but kept my composure but she cried....broke my heart that she was so scared. Within minutes the dr comes in and ask if she knows what's wrong with her and Kel laughs and says no. (Her attitude through this has been wonderful. She can't move the left side of her face, her eye won't close right, nothing taste good and she keeps calling herself crooked) I tell him we think bells palsy and he says we are right. So she gets some mega steroids and has to take 3200mg a day of another med. It can take up to 6 weeks for her to heal and it might get worse before it gets better....which it has. Her eye won't close now and her vision is blurred. We were in and out within an hour.

She's 24 but she's my baby, please keep her in your prayers.

Nuwave oven and other random things.

My mom gave me a nuwave oven today. I was wondering if anyone has one and what are your thoughts on it?
I read where you can bake, broil, fry and all kinds of things with it but I don't have the book. If you have one or know someone who does please share any info and recipes.

So Thanksgiving is Thursday! I'm eating at my MILs Thursday and then were going to my brothers Sat. I don't have to cook anything major! Yay!! I am making a pumpkin cheeseCAKE I seen online last night. I can't remember where I seen it so if it was your blog please let me know so I can give you credit. It look so good in the pics. I might make a sweet potato casserole too..yummmm. I hope everyone has a great holiday and share what your making...that special dish that your family expects.

One week and three days I will be in Branson! I'm really looking forward to this trip. Fellowship and laughing with my church ladies is always fun...shopping in Branson is fun too! I really wanna go to Silver Dollar City during this time of year one day. I hear its pretty spectacular. Have you ever gone?

I'm outta here, got to find something for supper. I hate cooking when I'm not in the mood to eat. What are you having for supper tonight?

I know I'm full of questions tonight...:)

YAY! Congrats Rhonda!

PediaLax Fiber Gummies giveaway extended!

In 2009 the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) significantly increased the recommended daily fiber intake standards, far above the previous "age plus five" rule. In fact, today's updated guidelines recommend 25 grams of fiber per day for four-year-old children. But how do we meet these requirements and get our children to eat high in fiber foods?

Now there's a delicious daily fiber supplement to help kids ages 2-11 maintain better digestive health and stay regular.* The dentist-approve, penguin-shaped, great tasting Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies are sugar-free, calorie-free, gluten-free and made with natural fruit flavors. With a recommended serving of three gummies every day, (equal to ½ cup of broccoli!), Fiber Gummies are a great way to supplement the fiber found in fruits, vegetables and other fiber-rich foods in your child’s daily diet. It’s a great solution to help bridge the gap between the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended amount of fiber and the fiber that kids actually consume in their daily diet.  Another plus... Fiber Gummies are dentist approved.

Pedia-Lax® Fiber Gummies, a delicious, sugar-free daily fiber supplement for kids ages 2-11 is excited to announce that it has been awarded the influential PTPA Media Inc.’s Seal of Approval for excellence in family products.

Consumers looking for practical, high-quality products and services can rest easy knowing that products bearing the PTPA Media “Winner” Seal are all “Parent Tested, Parent Approved™.”
As a result, the Parent Tested Parent Approved™ Seal has quickly gained recognition as an international leader in certifying consumer products for quality, effectiveness and value.

Suggested retail price is $7.99 for a bottle of 60 gummies; available at Target and Walgreens, also online and other supermarkets and retailers nationwide.

MY REVIEW
I have a nephew who has always had problem in the bathroom department, Since I don't have any small children other than Drex (and I don't think he's old enough at 3 months to eat gummies) my nephew was the one I was thinking of when I had the offer to review this product. Not only did he like the gummies (what kid doesn't) they actually worked very well! I know my mom likes that he loves the taste.
