The Last Christian by David Gregory *book review and giveaway*

x

The Last Christian by author David Gregory is a book that I did not want to put down. It takes place in 2088 and our world is totally different. Christianity has died out and it's not so far fetched in my mind that this is happening right now.
Also in the book brain transplants are happening, which could possibly eliminate physical death. People spend more time in VR (virtual reality) than they do in real life. Almost everyone has access to The Grid (kind of like the internet but very advanced), through neural implants.

The main character Abigail Caldwell grew up in the jungles of Papua New Guinea as a missionary's daughter. For thirty-four years she had never left the jungle until a strange disease swept through her village. In an attempt to help them, she left her people and traveled by canoe to a civilized area looking for help. Sadly she was too late but had a 16 year old message waiting for her from her grandparents. In the message she learns she is to be a missionary to the United States.

This book is a good futuristic thriller and I would recommend it to everyone.

IM READY FOR A CHANGE!

Me summer '09 Probably the closest I've been to my original in a long time.

Me Dec. '09 Pretty much blonded up!
I am so pale in this pic...blah, I was in Branson FREEZING!

For years I have dyed my hair blonde. I know my original color has changed over the years becuse I see my roots and they don't look like they did when i was ...oh, 17. I think I was around 17 when I first started highlighting lightly...then heavy...now, all the way!
I was born with red hair. Not the fire engine red but strawberry red. I hated my hair growing up. Kids are so cruel when you have red hair and freckles.
When I got older I changed the red hair but the freckles are still here. I have actually grown into them though and they don't take power over my face like they did back in the day. Plus you can't get rid of them so you might as well love them.
Although my memaw told me if I rubbed a wet diaper on them they would go away, I didn't do it! She also said buttermilk would take them off...didn't do that one either! Stuff stinks!
ANYWAY!
Back to my hair. I have tried to find my root color in the store....not happening. So I thought I would get some auburn lowlights and grow my natural out. NOW I might turn around and blonde it out agaihn in no time but for now I am wanting a change.... SO here are a few pics I could find that show what I'm talking about. It wasn't easy to find them.

1. I like her color, not so much all the auburn being underneath but it looks goos.

2. I love hers!! Only maybe I would go a little heavier on the auburn.I like this cut too.

hair color 3 by plastiquegal.

3. Hers is cute but it is more darker with blonde highlights. Maybe I won't go this heavy.

So leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Should I go more like 1, 2 or 3?

*winners for the coupons and book will be announced tomorrow night or Saturday morning so if you want in you best get in while the gettings good!!

ALSO, Something fun is coming in February!!

Thomas Nelson BOOK REVIEW: The Sweet By and By by Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck

This is the first book I have read in a long time that I didn't wanna close it until I had read the very last word in the book. Jade has her own business and is getting ready to marry a fantastic man, life is great. Right? Like all of us on some level, Jade has secrets and has built walls. But walls fall and secrets spill out. This is a book about God and His love and forgiveness. His for you therefore teaching you how to forgive others. I highly recommend this book and also having a box of kleenex near because you will need them. The book was written by multi platinum recording artist Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck.

RAMBLINGS

I'm going to do these in bullets (I think that's what it's called) just because it'll keep me straight and I want to.
  • Might as well start out with bad news...for me anyway. I lost 2 houses yesterday. 2 HOUSES! 2. geez....
  • They were mom and daughter that lived right across from each other and yes I hurt like crazy after I cleaned their houses but gee whiz.NO I didn't do anything wrong, The mister is retiring so they are cutting back and the daughter got a d.i.v.o.r.c.e. so she lost some income. (ok that bullet was not meant to be there.) I'm learning.
  • I have things I need to do at home so now I don't have an excuse cause I'm 2 houses free. Have I ever shown y'all my fabric...well don't expect me to. I need to sort and fold and ORGANIZE it. It is truly a mess. I see all these people on here who are so organized....they make me sick. :)
  • I have 10 million things going on. I love making my flowers,my pony holders,I'm making fabric bookmarks now, scrabble tile pendants, bubble magnets and that's only a fraction,I also have tons of stuff in my head I wanna do. Why can't I pick one or two things and stop! I bet I'd get a lot more accomplished.
  • I also seen this super cute bandanna... bandana...(hmmm which ever I say one but spell check says a different and it looks wrong to me) quilt tutorial...I'm thinking Christmas for my nieces and nephews.
  • I need to get on paperbackswap.com or swaptree and get me some more audio books. They make my drive so very much better.
  • I also need The Mark so I don't read out of turn in the Left Behind series. I've looked for it and can't find it...well on any of the swap sites.
  • I received some Kashi cereal in the mail today...going to try it in the morning so I can let ya know if it is any good. They sent me tons of coupons for the cereal and I'm going to share...of course. I will say I was not that impressed with the kashi blueberry waffles...paper with a faint hint of blueberry to me. The peanut butter made then edible though.
  • I got some new glasses...not to sure how I feel about them yet. I was suppose to wear my old ones every day and didn't so now my eyes are worse. Listen to the eye dr when he says wear them all the time...yeah.
  • Alright I'm out of here...I got to go look for The Mark and some audio books for that long ride.
