Goodwill Upcycle

My daughter Kelly loves owls. Recently she went to Goodwill and bought a fitted sheet with owls all over it and 2 pillows. She wanted pillows made from the sheet so I went to work and made 2 pillow covers that she would be able to take off and wash.

I then made a pillow with a little owl appliqued on the back also. I love how they turned out.

I forgot to take pic of sheet until after I started cutting it up.

It has individual owls and also skinny owl families and .... plump owl families. :)

What I've been up to lately.

When I first started blogging at blogger it was about my family and my crafts and remodeling.
I've kinda gotten away from the crafts and remodeling...I still do them but I almost never post about them so today I thought I would show yall a little bit of what I've been up to.

Kelly gave me this mirror/picture frame/hanger and it was missing 2 hooks and was brown. I took it not knowing what I was going to do with it then thought it could be made into something cute for Drex's room...maybe for his hats and such.

I made a few pony holders and matching earrings for little girls the other night...sorry the pic is so blurry-

I had some big pickle jars I keep cereal and oatmeal in and they were plain looking so I spray painted the lids and added a little twine with a decorative paper with what was in the jar with instructions n back.

This jar I bought at a yard sale,I wonder what was in it to begin with.

Last is my favorite thing to do. This sign is for my parents. They have it hanging on their porch right now. In the lower left hand corner it says est. '79.

I made Drex one with his name on it in bright colors,it's actually behind the Harrison one.

Here we go again!

My internet speed is killing me! It's at 24.0 mbps and the signal strength is sloooow. I don't care what anyone says satellite is just NOT faster than cable modem.

All of my giveaway winners have contacted me and 2 want the books and one wants a C, So I'm going to get those out Monday...The C may take a bit longer...please have patience! :)

I received 2 swaps in the mail! One (forgive me I have lost who gave it) was in a big box and you would have thought it was Christmas when I seen it on the front step! It was so full of a lot of goodies!! It had 8 stamps that say things like Enjoy life,Inspire,achieve... It had some bird chimes and a bird welcome plaque, frames,mouse pad...lots of goodies!



I also got a package from Julie on a no spend swap, she sent a fantastic package. tags, threads,ribbon,a pair of socks..just to name a few things. I love swap-bot...if you haven't checked it out you should!

Oh and I won in a craft it forward giveaway at Jessica's place, The Pelkeys, You should stop by and say hi to her! So I will be crafting it forward probably Tuesday so stay tuned and be one of the first 3 to comment!

I would like to ask for prayer for my daughters... My oldest is sick and on antibiotics and a pill for congestion and my youngest found out today she has a big cyst on her one of her ovaries. She goes Thurs. to the dr. and will know more. She's also 600 miles from me so it's hard when you can't be there. It might as well be 2000 miles between AR and KY!!

This is the magnetic bookmark I made for a swap. It says..Keep life simple and wacky. The back says Dreams do come true. I really like this one and want to keep it but I won't...I don't think.

My DH snapped this last night as I was staining the walls in our new living room. I like how they are turning out....now if I could just move into it!

Day 9 was yesterday and I didn't get on the elliptical. My legs are hurting really bad lately and I just didn't feel like it BUT I did clean 2 houses yesterday so that was constant work from 9 am til 3 pm.

Help me name my Dotee.

I left the opening in the wrong spot,boy it was hard to pull her right side out!

I finally made my 1st Dotee doll...she's not perfect but I did learn a lot from making her and hope to do better next time, I love her anyway.I didn't have the right material for her face so I used what I had. I do need a name for her though...so if you wanna help me name her, leave your suggestion in the comments and if I choose your name I'll send you a present. Not sure what yet...I might give you some choices and let you choose. If you'd like to meet the lady who brought us the dotee doll then click here.

I've also been making some gift tags. I thought I'd share them also....

This is my favorite, i found this tag on my closet floor, I really need to straighten up the closet. I ripped up an old Christmas card and used some tissue paper and this was the end result....I think I'll keep this one!

These are going to a swap partner from swap-bot.com. I think they are cute with there little Christmas characters.The blue one on the far left has a wreath on it, it's hard to see. The blue one at the far right has a puppy and kitten sleeping together.

These are 2 little simple one with poems on them.
I made these for my daughter, they have her inital on the black side of 3 of them. There's 3 with snowmen, she loves snowmen. The 3 with the initals also have LIVE,LOVE,LAUGH on the red side...which looks pink in these pics.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these, they are all brown with the lil polka dots on the back and then the fronts have words on them. All of the cards are distressed.
