A First For Me

I'm making a crocheted baby blanket, it's the first one I've tried. I like doing projects that are almost instant. I get bored real quick when something takes a while. This is for a baby girl that will be here soon so hopefully that will kick my rear in gear and I'll get it done!

Whole lot of changes going on!

If your actually at my blog you can see there have been a few changes. I'm not all full of wall to wall gadgets and I have changed the name of my blog. I want to get back to why I started blogging back in Feb of 2006....that seems like such a long time ago. I got caught up in some things I enjoyed for a time and lost track of what made me happy as far as blogging goes. There might be a book review here and there but my blog will not be all about book reviews and product reviews and giveaways any more.

I want to get back to my family and laughs and sewing and crafts and things that make me happy like this little guy!

I hope yall will stay around but if not I understand and that's ok too. Maybe this way I will WANT to blog more and it won't feel like something I HAVE to do.

The mobile I made months ago.....

 

 Months ago when Drex looked like this I seen somewhere on a blog and I forget where...forgive please...a mobile so I made one to hang over Drex's changing table. He loves it and that pleases me. *insert big grin here*

  

I cut out a ton of circles and sewed a ribbon down the middle of two circles put back to back.

 Then I had this round thing...not sure what it was or where I got it and I wound ribbon around it tight and hot glued the ribbons with the circle on it.

 EAZY PEAZY!

In this picture it's hanging from my ceiling fan and that is not the color of my wall..it looks yellow on my computer.

Today I cried like a baby in walmarts parking lot.

After I got off work today I went to mamas and then Nikki, Drex and I went to walmart to do a little grocery shopping. I pushed Drex around and he was busy checking out all the merchandise, smiling and talking to me. I love how every once in a while he would catch his mama walking by and he'd just stare at her. Nikki went back to work Monday and he has been staying with my mama. He seems to be adjusting really well. He is such a happy baby.

As we were putting our groceries...well Nikki was putting the groceries in the car and I was putting Drex in the car and I lost my grip on the left side of his car seat. I didn't drop him but as my hand was grasping for the seat while the seat was falling my hand slapped....I tear up just typing the word slapped....his little face. It wasn't a hard slap...it really kinda grazed it but it cared him and he started screaming. I couldn't get him out of that seat fast enough to love him up. So today I stood in the parking lot and cried.....hard, I was still snubbing (as my mama calls it) on my way home. The thought that I hurt that child kills me.

RAMBLINGS and THURSDAY 13 with Amber and Meg!

1. Shell and Supah are having a Just Dance dance off. I bought the game and haven't even opened it yet. :( Hopefully tonight after Survivor and Idol I will feel like getting in there and shaking my booty.

2. We went to see the ultrasound yesterday and we are getting a boy! My SIL is so excited,it really scared him for some reason to raise a girl....can't say I blame him.

Is it just me or do babies look kinda alien like in these 4d pics?

3. I have a super giveaway coming really soon!

4. The dr put me on meds for pain that make me sick to my stomach,it took all week for them to get me on another med starting tomorrow. One reason I'm not sure about the dance off. :(

5. I also have to have a TB test done....I put it off all week,I'm a needle chicken.

6. I have some onsies to decorate for Baby G,anyone have any great boy appliques I can copy?

Because I have nothing else to say...

I went to the doctor for my yearly today...I hate those. Friday I go for the mammogram, those are not so bad.

 Do you do the yearly mammogram???

If not, WHY NOT?

Nikki went to the doctor today also and 1 month from today we find out what were getting!

She took 3 vacation days to rest and came out to my house to visit Monday. I was working until noon and she made chicken spaghetti and we ate...it was good. 

Then she said "I could use a 30 minute nap."

She didn't know I took this pic...laid up with my Daisy both of them snoozing.

She know better than to trust me when there's a camera around...ain't that right Kelly!

Nikki's 1st Easter in 1984

Jim and I had a small wedding in my front yard. My Aunt Margaret made our cake and it was so pretty….til we put it outside in August. It was white with yellow and blue frosting which melted and turned into green tie dye like lines, actually it was still pretty. I moved in with Jim in his apartment and we started playing house. Did a pretty good job at it too.

Within a few months we moved in with my mom and dad, I was pregnant and Jim just started working for the Department of Corrections. We were able to get our own place again before the baby was born. My Dr. said the baby would be here around August 4^th , my birthday, I was so excited! In February I got sick and was in the worst pain in my life. I went to the hospital and the Dr. said I needed an emergency appendectomy. Here I am 4 months pregnant, my husband at work, my mama having to sign forms that they could do the surgery and I wasn’t really even very scared cause I was in so much pain. I was just scared I was gonna lose the baby. When I woke up from surgery first thing I did was ask Jim about the baby, he said the baby was fine! This is also when I found out I was allergic to ivory soap….99.9% pure and I’m allergic to it!

I remember on July 1^st Jim, my brothers and I were playing around in the water and having bottle rocket fights. When we went home that night I started having pains and realized Man this is really happening! We went to a payphone and called my Dr. and he said “Go to the hospital and I’ll meet you there.” I never did see him until 2 days later.

I gave birth to a 5lb. 81/2 oz. baby girl! She was beautiful, she had dark hair and looked like she had spent 9 months in a tanning bed cause she had the prettiest skin. (She’s still beautiful and has the same pretty skin color!) Jim was in there with me when she was born. She was due August but I guess decided to come on out and join the fun!

We named her Vanessa Nicole AKA Nikki and she was one little spoiled girl! She was the first grandchild on both sides so she got a lot of attention. We called her Monkey for a long time then it changed to “The Kid”. Nikki was a really good baby, even potty trained herself! She loved Madonna and Prince, she would sing “Like a virgin” every time it came on the radio. Somehow she knew when it was 2pm and would come running in the room yelling “Luke and Laura mommy!” (General Hospital) Two years old and I had my kid watching soaps! Normally she would only watch commercials and play during the movies. Now days she flips thru commercials so fast it makes my head spin!

This is ending in 1985, We had a healthy beautiful baby girl, Jim had a good job and we were a happy family.
