What Easter means to me.

When I think of Easter the one thing that always comes to mind is when I was little and all of us (cousins) would be at memaws and pepaws for food and egg hunting. Easter was a big deal to us back then and it's sad that as we got older we got away from that. Memaw and pepaw are gone now and what I would give to have one more Easter as a child with them.

I also remember going to the park with the church and hunting eggs. I had so much fun doing that! One Easter I was 5 yrs old and in the hospital getting my tonsils and adnoids out. The preacher came up and promised me he would save me a chick and he didn't....I never ever forgot that.

We always got new clothes for Easter. My kids always got new clothes too but where I got a new dress and shoes they ended up getting short sets after they were older. When they were babies they got dresses.

I think back now and can honestly say I don't remember the last time I dyed eggs. That's sad....
Drex will be here next year for Easter and we are going to dye eggs!

Thats Kelly on the right. She was around 3 or 4 and we lived in Reno. It was sad in Reno on Easter, I missed my family so bad...I remember crying that day.

Nikki is on the right. This was her first Easter. She was almost 1. She had so many frills on that day. That dress had a bonnet with it but she wouldn't keep it on. Her great-grandma Nan bought it for her and I still have it. The dress will be 28 years old tomorrow.

In all the memories of Easter I hope we don't forget the real reason for it. It's all about the resurrection
and what He did for us.

God’s love was the way
To the old wooden cross
When we had no hope
And were eternally lost
He offered unto us
A new life in Him
Through His fateful death
And His resurrection

Heroes LOVE Harv!

In case you haven't noticed I'm playing one of the heroes on Supah's Island!
The wonderfully gracious sponsors are on my sidebar....go on and click on them!!
I'm playing JT, he's probably the youngest player on Survivor and he's from Alabama...a country boy!
I loved him and rooted for him when he won a few seasons ago and thanks to Shell for letting me pick him....she was one ahead of me and picked Cirie.

So today we got our first challenge...it was to make a valentine card and write a poem to Harv Spitenstein...he's our host...like Jeff is on Survivor.
He's down in the dumps and we have to lift his spirits!
Heroes need immunity so we hope one of our cards wins!!!!

This is the front of mine.

Here's the inside...you can't read the poem but that's ok cause I'm suppose to copy it in the blog. The little flap lifts up for a surprise for Harv!

OK Here is my poem...remember I am not a poet!

Instead of being sad
I wish you could be
glad!
Just know the HEROES love you
and we hope you love us too!

Unlike the villans...who practice voodoo!

Don't forget to watch Survivor on Thursday night and root for JT!

FRIDAY FIVE ~Quotes~

Over on Multiply we have a Friday Five group...I haven't posted on it in so long I was sorta embarrassed to post tonight BUT...I did anyway. I love quotes and that was the subject so I wanted to add it over here also...although no one reads this blog! :)

1.
A life watered by the tears of tragedy and suffering often becomes the most fertile soil for spiritual growth.

*I don't remember where I found this one and don't know who said it...if you do please let me know.*

2.
Life is to short for drama and petty things, so kiss slowly, laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly. ~unknown~

3.

Sometimes your nearness takes my breath away; and all the things I want to say can find no voice. Then, in silence, I can only hope my eyes will speak my heart. ~Robert Sexton~
*This one was so true for me when I started falling for my husband*

4.
Footfalls echo in the memory, down the passage which we did not take, towards the door we never opened into the rose garden.
~T S Eliot~

5.
(Dreams) Permit each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every nite of our lives. ~William Dement~

and here's one to grow on....

Love is strange and mysterious.... just like jelly beans.
