FABRIC FLOWER WINNER

A winner was drawn for the fabric flower! I used the old fashion way to choose a winner... wrote your names on a scrap piece of paper with pink ink (that I could barely see to read) and tossed them around and drew the name-

I CAN BE FRUGAL! ...and a small giveaway.

A while back I bought some fabric off of Etsy, it was a big box with all kinds of good size green fabrics. I love it! I made 2 skirts from the fabric so far. I got the big box of fabric for $6!

Pay no attention to the messy bathroom. I wore this one Sunday.

I made these little flowers and appliqued them on, I thought it was pretty good for the first time. I love how it turned out.

I love this one too but haven't had a chance to wear it yet. I have a light blue shirt that matches the little blue flowers perfectly!



Today I stopped at a couple yard sales and at the first one I spent $3 and got 4 things!

This was a book of fabric remnants, pinks,roses and reds. I'm not sure what all I will do with them but I bet I find something! Got it for .50. Couldn't help but make a flower already.

Here's another book of remnants I got. This one was much bigger pieces of fabric and I only paid .75!

I also got this pretty little cross. He's living on the table for the moment until I decide where I want him. It was only .25.

YES I will wear someone elses shoes,after I disinfect them! Look at how cute they are,from gap and dark blue! LOVE THEM! Paid a whopping $1.50 for these but so worth it!

At the 2nd sale I got a book for a quarter and a bench!!! I have been looking for a bench that my cheap...ummmm I mean frugal self would buy. I don't have a pic yet cause my hubby is picking it up for me but it has iron sides and chippy paint and I only paid $5 for it!! FIVE DOLLARS people!!! YES!

UPDATE

Ok I think I got this figured out. Mom got out of the hospital Monday, Dad was admitted Tuesday and got out Thursday. Friday morning he was back at the ER and they sent him home after a morphine shot and a prescription for percocet. (spl)
He is in so much pain and it would not go away. Saturday morning Mom had him back at the ER and they admitted him again. They are talking about connective tissue disorder and have mentioned lupus.He is on a pain pump again and hopefully they WON'T send him home again til they find out what the problem is. Please keep my dad and mom in your prayers.

Dad was admitted in the hospital today. Apparently it's not gout but something else. He has PAD and at the moment they are thinking it has spread...last I heard.
Mama said he was in a lot of pain and they gave him a pain shot...didn't touch it. So they gave him some demerol...didn't touch it. He ended up with morphine, he said it worked right away. Please keep them in your prayers.

Ramblings

Life seems to get so busy sometimes and I feel overwhelmed, that's my excuse for not blogging. Although it is an excuse it is also the truth. It seems like every since Kel came home I've been running to do this or that. Your suppose to stop and smell the flowers...I can't even find he flowers.

Recently I have had a few people canceling on me with the house cleaning. Then I had to cancel a few so that's got the $$$ looking not so good for me. I'll stop there though and not complain cause I do have a job and so does my husband, Alot of others don't.
Two canceled because of deaths, very sad and understandable. They are sisters and up in years. One had lost her husband and the other lost her son a week or so later. :(
Another is going through a divorce and hasn't got the money..... understandable.

My mom was brought to the ER Friday am because her legs wouldn't work. She got up at 6am, went to the bathroom, went back to bed til 7am and when she got up at 7 she fell back on the bed. Her legs wouldn't work. She was admitted into the hospital Friday and went thru a bunch of test and was released today with all test coming back good. They don't know why she wasn't able to walk. She can now but is just a little unsteady. Anyone ever heard of this happening?
On top of mom being in the hospital my brother called yesterday morning and said he was taking dad to the ER...
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My dad is heard to get to go top the dr. so I knew he was in pain when Steven called. I got there right after them and waited with dad. Dr. came in and said his gout was now in his back,shoulders,arms and hands. I thought gout was only in your feet.I don't know...
He got 2 shots and 2 prescriptions and we left. We didn't want mama to know we had him in the ER but she found out. (bad kids) She's sneaky like only moms are.
So they are both home and ok.

I had the yard sale. We made around $170 total. so it wasn't a complete loss. It was HOT though. VERY! We are having 100 degree temps and it's scary to wonder what August will bring.
We are still walking.
and laughing
and breathing, what more can you ask for ?
