RAMBLINGS

I had hoped to get my etsy stocked by the 1st...I don't see that happening right now. MAYBE I'll get some in there Saturday????
I have a few new things I was playing around with and might add some of those but of course I want to show you guys now.

(I really have very few you guys on blogger so that comment was for Multiply)

I made a few rings with beads and took one picture of one that Nikki stole but it is bad...I have to learn how to take pics of beads.
see....

Please pay no attention to the fingernails with polish flaking...I hate that but have been lazy. I cropped the pic but it was way blurry then. I made it with regular craft wire...need to find some jewelry wire.

I also made some new bobbies, I think they are too cute. (Debby you didn't get a sample of them cause I just made them yesterday)

I need to grow my hair out....

I'm almost finished with the girls (nieces) bandana quilts...need to order bandanas for the boys quilts. I think I'm going to do those red and white....those are the HOGS colors, did y'all know that?
:)

OK burgers are almost ready, need to cut the tomatoes.

TEN THOUGHTS TUESDAY

1. I woke up this morning not wanting to do ANYTHING...I seen Cheryl on FB and she was talking about TTT on 360 and missing it so here I am.

2. My legs have gotten to where they ache and feel heavy, especially at night. If I lie on
one side to long it is painful to that leg to turn over. I was reading up on my meds side effects and that is a side effect on the fluid pill. I think I'm going to cut it down although I already take a low dose.

3. While I'm doing NOTHING today I need to put all the new stuff in my etsy. I have given myself a d
eadline of Oct. 1st...that is getting pretty close. Might not have time any other day this week.

4. The weather here is so pretty
. Doors and windows are open and it is cool even though the sun is shining.

5. Kelly is talking about driving ho
me for Christmas by herself...if the weather is good. I don't know how stressful that will be for her but I do for me. She'll do good... :)

6. Daisy is feeling much better.
her couch is almost gone. She is going to have to take a fluid pill for the rest of her life though.

7. Nikki is doing good. She called e
arlier and was gripping about having to pay personal taxes. :) She said " she always wondered what we meant when she was little and we would talk about bills, she wish she still wondered about it instead of knowing." LOL

8. Our lottery started yesterday. I haven't heard anything about people winning yet.Proceeds go the
education in Arkansas.

9. Linzy is in band,I don't think
he is to excited about it though. He chose the trumbone...this ought to be interesting! :)

10. I did it! 10... now I need to
go make some hair pins and button up my flowers. OH! I need a name for my fabric flowers. I've been thinking of a few and wanted some opinions.
1. The Roxie (after my memaw)
2. The Caprice (which is another word for whimsy)
3. The Joli (pretty in french)

or if you have any suggestions tell me PLEASE!

ALL ABOUT MEme MONDAY

It's that time again!
MEme Monday with Supah and MommyBrain!

This week is x-tra special to me cause it is as close as I'll get to one of my most favoritest show EVAH!

5 Essential MEme Items

I cannot  ( hissssss) survive without.

* on a daily basis
* on a deserted island
* with my kids in the car

We can choose which one and I choose on a daily basis because my kids are grown...well Linzy is almost 15 and not AS annoying as when they are smaller and the girls are like 23 and 26....so this one doesn't apply. I'm thinking I'd have to get on a boat to end uyp on a deserted island and I don't see that happening.

SO
5 essential items I can not survive witout on a daily basis are....

1. My husband, kids, and family. I think that's pretty self explanatory. Although I could survive without a husband I choose not to.

2. Chapstick. I have tubes of this stuff all over the house, in jacket pockets,my purse and in the winter in my car....too hot here in the summer time.I really do think it is an addiction,it could be worse.

3. My car. Not that I'm in love with it cause I'm not but I do like the idea of having transportation when ever I need or want it. I have been carless before and it is not a good feeling.

4.My cell phone. How did we live without them? I know I could survive without it but I so don't wanna find out. It is like my life line between me and my loved ones. Kelly lives 600 miles away and I talk to her every day sometimes texting all day....when I lived in Reno, some 2000 miles from my mama in the late 80's I talked to her once a week on Sundays. That is why I love love LOVE my cell phone.

5. My atenolol. Without it my heart beats too fast and skeers me.

There's 5 of mine although I could add lots more. Y'all go see Supah and MommyBrain and play along!

Okra and squash and peppers...OH MY!

*why are there lines under that?*
Anyway! So I went and cut some okra..and squash and peppers. I do like the way fresh produce smells but I have been spoiled by my FIL doing all the work...bad Lisa.
*now the lines are gone... *shrugs**

So I wanted to share some of my bounty pics with ya...aren't you just the luckiest.....

I think were having chicken, okra and squash for supper...maybe some sweet potatoes from the garden also.

Y'all have a great weekend!

It might be your life you save.

OH! Let me leave you with a pic of my youngest....just because I can and I miss her.

She's ready for Halloween.

I am praying...for a lot
I am going... to the Cleveland county fair tonight.

I am reading...nothing at the moment...but I got some books in today from Hatchett book group so I will be reading later.

I am hoping...I can get my etsy restocked by Oct. 1
I am hearing...Britts overalls in the dryer...GRRRrrrrrrrr. I hate those things! I guess he does deserve something clean to work in tomorrow though.

1. SURVIVOR- I have LOVED this show since season 1.It has drama, romance, meanness, lying, backstabbing and cheating...what more could you want?

2.AMERICAN IDOL- This one is rated right up there with Survivor. My stomach actually hurts when they are down to like the last 10 and people are getting voted off. My boy Kris Allen (from Arkansas) won this season!! WOOHOO!

3. CSI- the original. This is a great show although I miss Sarah...and Warrick...and Grissom. It will never be the same without them. Kelly (my daughter) told me Sarah was coming back soooo it might be better than last season.

5. Dr. OZ- This is a new one. We got to know him from Oprah and now he has his own show! SA-WEET! When I get rich he is going to be my personal doc cause he is like the smartest doctor evah!

My Saturday...

I have actually done something I wanted to do today...well except for washing clothes. I am making bandana quilts as some Christmas presents this year and I accomplished getting 2 of the quilt tops done this morning..actually I started one last night but ANYWAY.

I'm not going to say who these are for because I don't know if they see my blog or not. Thats 2 down and 4 to go.

The other thing...things I have been doing is making new items for my etsy. I am doing a re-haul on the shop and want to get all new items in it by Oct. 1st. Not sure if I'll make it or not but I'm working on it. I am still trying to clear out the old inventory so I have the BOGO going, come get 2 for the price of 1!

Here's a sneak peek at some of the new items that will be added.
I also got my cards in for the shop...look how pretty! I love vistaprint and their freebies!

Alright I'm outta here.Y'all have a wonderful rest of the weekend. I'm off to fix grilled cheese and soup for supper...forget all that cooking mess.

**Thanks to Supah for reminding me of Oriential Trading. I was at a loss on these bandanas!**

TEN THOUGHT TUESDAY

1. I know I'm a little late on my Tuesday thoughts but I feel like I have been late for a week now so it will be ok...promise.

2. I FINALLY figured out a way to recycle some of my old business cards. I have around 300 and did not want to just throw them away. Check out picture below.
Just decoupage a pretty paper to it an
d use it for Mimis Corner!

3. Those are cute little bobby pins that have not been put in the shop yet but I will soon. I also have some wi
th tee-ninee fabric flowers on them to be added soon.

4. I'm going to make a quilt...soon, hopefully. I have lots of fabric in strips and bagged by colors so I have the first step started. It looks like a lot of fabric but I know it isn't enough yet.

5. Patrick Swayze died and I knew it was coming but it made me sad. Of all the "famous" folks that died this y
ear I think he made me the saddest.

6. It is raining HARD again... has been for days now. Better than 95 degree temps.

7. We are having a revival at church. Bro. Bill Lystlund is preaching and he is WONDERFUL! If you ever ever ever get a chance to hear this man preach GO.

8. I just started the 10th book in the Left Behind series. I read #9 in less than 24 hours...yes,it was that good. I am going to feel like family members died if I ever finish this s
eries.

9. OH I also have baby clippies going in the shop soon too. See....

I am not liking the pics my camera is taking...or is it the operator?

10 I made it..yep that is a thought! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.

MEme Monday

I'm once again participating in MEme Monday!
You should go check it out at SupahMOmmys or MommyBrains
Today our MEme is all about-
FIVE "breathtaking" white LIES YOU'VE TOLD.
( Ode to Seinfeld Episode)

I like to think I do not lie....but it doesn't always work. so here are the ones I can think of.

1. When I see some proud mama,g'mama,aunt....whatever. and they are holding an UGLY
baby. (Don't look like that, you know there are some UGLY babies out there.) I can not say "what a pretty baby...I don't wanna lie. So in stead I comment on their hair oe their outfit. Like..." LOOK at all that hair! WOW!" or "That has got to be the cutest lil dress."
So I'm not actually lying...unless the baby has no hair or it's outfit is UGLY too.

2. I have this lady I work for...she is like 162 years old and I really do care about her. That is no white lie...really. Cause if I didn't care for her I would not be workking at her house. It is bad! She tells me I know I'm lazy. I have days when I'm suppose to go there and I will find something to do and go somewhere else...like home. I was suppose to do her house last Wed. and didn't. I told her Thurs. and didn't...she is so sweet and I now feel awful cause I make up things to tell her so I don't have to do her house. I'm suppose to go tomorrow....Lord give me strength.

3. Bums.
I HATE getting out of my car and having someone who probably makes more $$$ than me asking for "change" to get something to eat. I tell them "I'm sorry I NEVER carry cash on me." I told one guy (cause he really looked hungry) I would go get him aburger if he would wait right here...he told me nevermind.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought he was hungry!
Anyway..If you see me and want some change...I am going to lie to you and hope yur not one of God's angels.

4. Messenger,FB chat, Multiply chat...whatever chat I am always off line... as far as people can see anyway. I have had people start talking to me and totally ignore them acting like I don't see it. I just don't care for chatting to much.
Just so ya know I don't ALWAYS do this...just sometimes.

5. Like Supah...I use to lie to my kids when they were little.
-The little pony at the supermarket that eats quarters? He was broke ALL THE TIME> I would wait in car til a kid got off of it so the girls wouldn't know.
- Those balloons that some stores give kids? They would mysteriously come untied oncve we were outside and float away. I hated them in the car...one more thing to fight over.
-Little quarter machines at the doors of stores witht he little toys that you step on and it HURTS!... broke all the time.

#1 that they will always remnember is the phrase- "we'll see" We would never see. That was a no plain and simple but they fell for it for a long long time. After they got older they would tell me mama that means no.

Ok that's all I got! I'm going to try to go visit!

DIY From country shelf to not so country shelf- loving some paint and mod podge!

I got this shelf from  a lady I work for that is around 6 ft tall. It was this very country blue color and the bottom doors had hearts cut into them. I'm not into the country look so much so I changed it up. IThere are a few things I did that I'm not liking so much but will change it when I have time. I didn't take a before pic of the whiole thing because I forgot...what else is new?

At the last minute I remembered I forgot to take a before pic so I got the drawers...see? country blue.

Country blue and cut out hearts...ahhh no.

First coat of black paint, not real sure it is going to stay black and paint is easy to change.

I mod podged some fabric to the back and do not like how it looks so it will be changed to paper.

Doors opened, I cheated and didn't paint the back of them. I'll catch up with it later also.
I didn't take pics of the bottom...don't know why but I mod podged some paper to the back and like it alot better than the fabric.... I bet that fabric will be  booger bear to take off.
I also did not like the microwave on it so the top shelf is now sitting on the bottom shelf like it was made. It looks MUCH better without the microwave.

PS- If anyone happens to have a bunch of bandanas they don't want I am looking for a lot of them. I will be happy to buy them and pay postage...of course!
Ebay has some but these people are crazy on postage. I am not going to pay $9.99 for 5 bandanas to be mailed to me. That's not including the purchase price!

My favorite flower.

I was playing around the other night with a piece of an old skirt and made a Flower pin that is almost 7 inches across. It is huge and I love it. I added some tulle to make it perk up and then put a camo button in the middle. You can be country and be girly.

I especially like it on this sweater.

FEARLESS book review for Thomas Nelson

I'm doing this review for Fearless by Max Lucado.
I'm reviewing as a Thomas Nelson book review  blogger.

Back of book-
Each sunrise seems to bring fresh reasons for fear.

They’re talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison and slams the doors.  Wouldn’t it be great to walk out?

Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, and doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, when you could trust more and fear less.

Can you imagine your life without fear?

We all have fears and this book can teach and/or remind us that we have someone we can go to with those fears.
I highly recommend this book for everyone. It is a fast and easy read yet it is one you'll want to go through slow and soak it up. In the back it has discussion guides for the chapters. One small sentence in this book has really stuck with me and that is.

"But worry doesn't work."
Most important thing I got out of it is RELY ON GOD... something I have always known and needed a small reminder.

Read the book, lose your fear and GAIN some Faith.

MEme Monday

I'm joining Supahmommy and Mommybrain in the ALL ABOUT Meme Monday. This Monday we're talking about -
FIve Fashion MEmestakes (mistakes)
I hope to never. make. again.
I have the song Lets get physical in brain thanks to these 2 mommies!
1. Members only jackets. I didn't have one but my boyfriend then husband did and he was so cool to me. His was silvery gray. I look back at it now and it was SO NOT COOL.
2. Jeans...TIGHT jeans folded at the bottom and then rolled so they would stay tight. This was a ridiculous look that my brother wore too far into the 90's. (hoping he doesn't read my blog)  Normally I would have on my high top LA Gear tennis shoes with the 2 velcro straps at the top while wearing the tight rolled jeans back in the day.
3. Ponytails on the side..and high ones at that. *enuff said*
4. stirrup pants- Why? My daughter called me last week cause she was at the mall and came across a pair of stirrup pants...in 2009! She called cause she found it funny. Not only did I dress like that I dressed my kids like that too. *hangs head in shame*

5. Leg-warmers. Remember those? You usually wore them with the stirrup pants.
...and that's why I keep singing Lets get physical!

So get typing and go see all the fashion boohoos with Mr. Linky at Supahs!

This new editor has confused me...forgive the mess.
