The one thing I can remember wanting so bad I could taste it when I was a kid was

a POGO stick!

I can remember asking and begging for one for what seemed like years but I'm sure it was just months. I do remember mama was still married to Nolan (my birth dad) so I had to be around 9 years old. 

I did get it... for my birthday I think. 

I spent many hours trying to learn how to jump and I never quite mastered it.

BUT

 I loved my pogo stick!

6. The prednisone the doc gave me to help him make a diagnosis has wore off....blahhhh....

That stuffs bad for you but it sure helps the pain.

7.  I'm having an MRI on the 25th and that scares me...I am slightly claustrophobic.

8. I'm thinking I'm not gonna make it to 13..... Where do all my thoughts fly away to when I get in front of the computer?

9.  Kelly is off getting a new car....Nikki got a new one a few weeks ago....guess what I want? I love my cars gas mileage but it is so little. I like big vehicles!

10.  Did you know that if you don't go r e a l slow with a vacuum that it won't pick up? Yeah I didn't know that either til this little lady I clean for told me....uh huh....not happening. That thing will pick up good if I go slow or I go super fast like I want to!

11.  It is so so  so much easier to clean when no one is home telling me how to do my job. Don't get me wrong there are some I love visiting with...like the one I had today...but others, not so much.

12. Nikki and I had a late lunch today. We ate at 2pm so I grabbed Chinese takeout for the guys...WALA! 

no cooking! 

LOVE IT!

I'm going to give a list of 5...I really think that is all of the times I got pulled over....5 only, really.

1. I was working late and had to be at a birthday party at 5pm. I was going 55 on a 35mph street,I saw those flashing lights and was terrified. I was shaking SO bad. I got a ticket on that one...a large ticket. They don't like you going 20 miles over the limit for some reason....

2. I had a friend who had a daughter who NEVER sat in a carseat or seatbelt. I said ok just this once but you better stay down. (STUPID on my part in so many ways) Music was loud,we were talking and laughing and again there's those flashing lights. He talked to me....not so nice....her mama,even more rude (not that I blame him) and then had a talk with the child. Got off with a warning.

3. SAME street...different cop...same kid,unbuckled...I didn't know this time. Another warning and I told the kid You will NEVER go any where with me again if you can't learn to wear a belt..... never had another problem with her...she's now married and expecting her first,hope she buckles it up!

4. 3am roads are deserted,just got off work and taking a friend home. Light turns yellow,in a semi-bad part of town...no other cars 'cept for one coming toward me...I run the light. Car coming toward me? Yep it was a cop. He turns around,gets behind me and turns on his lights. Remember bad part of town...I turn flashers on and make him follow me a mile down the road...ok maybe 2 miles and pull into a 7-11 where there is a light. First thing out of his mouth was "why didn't you pull over when I first turned my lights on?' I said " Because it was dark and I knew 7-11 was right up the road."  I was in my moms car,couldn't find proof of insurance...or registration, had sorta kinda in a slow way ran from the cop. I was scared....got a warning. :)

(We no longer have 7-11's here)

5. This past summer we got back from Florida and I went to town to meet Nikki to get Daisy in my husbands truck. Which is powerful...I feel like a big girl driving it. I get my d-o-g and on the way home a trooper passes me..soon as he does I look in mirror and see brake lights,look at speed and was going 63 in a 55. Big trooper comes up,wants to know if I knew I was speeding. I told him "Yes sir cause when you passed me and stepped on your brakes I looked and knew you were coming to get me." and then explained... "This is my husbands truck,I'm not use to driving it and it has a lot more power than my car." He ask me to slow down and gave me a warning!

5 stops and 1 ticket...not to bad,not bragging tho cause I'll get stopped and get one tomorrow for bragging. OK I'm outta here....

I'm choosing the top 5 deal breakers with a relationship...although you would never get into the relationship phase with these deal breakers.

#1 When I was single I went out with this guy that I thought was pretty cool...until we were at a stop light and he turned the light inside the truck on and he had the dirtiest ears I have ever seen! Q-tips do not cost that much money people!

#2  Teeth.... I'm sorry but everybody can afford a toothbrush,surely.

#3 Grown man,don't have a car and living with mama while I worked 60+ hours a week with 2 kids and my own place? 

Not interested.

#4 I dated a guy for a couple months before that every time we would go out to eat he would say "What do I want?" 

Well....I don't know!  and his reply would always be "Well isn't that what wives and girlfriends do? Tell you what to eat and where to go all the time?"

Yeah I wanted to tell him where to go.

#5 Drugs.

I'm not currently reading anything so I'm going to do a book I just finished.

I recently finished The Sweet By and By by Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck. Great book!

I read whenever and where ever I can. During commercials, sitting in kitchen floor while cooking, but mostly in bed.

I like all kinds of books. Mostly scary and funny with a little romance and civil war era thrown in but I will read anything.

Most all of my books come from swaptree.com. If you don't know about this place, visit it! Some others come from publishing companies that i review for.

After I finish my books I will either share with others, list them on swaptree.com or do a giveaway.

Book quirks? Hmmmmm, I don't like to turn down pages. I will use all kinds of things as a bookmark. Some things I have used recently are bobby pins, thread and a clippie. I do own and even make bookmarks....just never use them.

Since I'm like the ONLY person in blogland that has never watched friends that makes my choices smaller...I choose 5.

I have a friend that helped me once and I do not even know what that friends name is...I actually probably do know them cause I think they are from my church but no one has ever admitted it was them who helped.

In December of 2004 I was newly separated,getting a divorce and broke,I mean really broke. I was living in a mobile home that needed the pipes wrapped under it. I have a distant cousin who said for $20 he would get under there and wrap them.  So I ran home between jobs to give my mom the money to pay him when he showed up. It was a few bills and the rest was change. It was ALL THE MONEY I HAD! But I knew I'd be in trouble if I had a pipe bust and it was freezing already. 

When I was leaving my moms I stopped at the mailbox and there was a little envelope,kinda like what you would get in your valentine box you made for grade school. It had my name on it and nothing in the returen address part. I opened it and it had 2 $20 bills in it. FORTY $$$$$!!!! That was such a blessing to me, you have no ideal! The twenties were wrapped up in a small piece of paper that had "we love you" wrote in red crayon. I cried so hard I was late for work cause I had to go tell my mom. I'm teary eyed now thinking about it. I still haven't a clue who sent it but God does and one day I hope to be able to tell them thank you and how much that meant to me. 

So that's the nicest thing a friend has done for me. 

 

SLOPPY SECONDS SATURDAY: From 3 years ago..Lots of things on my mind.

I blogged this probably about 3 years ago to the day and I'm reposting it today as part of Sloppy Seconds Saturday with Supah! 

I wrote it one night and when I was dating Britt and was so so scared to tell him I loved him. I was going to take it down before Britt got off work so he wouldn't see it...little did I know he looked at it at work. I'm going to leave the comments at the end that I received so you can see the advice I got.

Man! Today lasted 24 hours! I can usually do a house in 2 hours, a big one in 3 or 4 if noones home to stop me because they wanna visit. This place today is big and she was at home but I got there at 9am and didn't leave til after 4:30! I was working the whole time, she has alot of company coming in for Homecoming. In my town Homecoming is a big deal for people that went to UAPB. I'll be seeing those Golden Lions flying on all the cars this weekend! Oh well it felt real good to get home today!

The weather here has been just stupid! First it gets cold and I'm all worried about not having gas. Then it rains like it hasn't in forever and now it's 80 degrees! Creepy spooky weather, remember when we had seasons? It is suppose to be cold during the state fair,you should have to wear a coat at night. Not us! I'm telling ya something is happening. Don't know what or when or even where but it is....

I'm going to the game this weekend!! Were playing Ole Miss at Fayetteville. I have never gone to a game so I'm excited!!!!!!

I said I had things on my mind and I've been pondering them. You ever feel like you just don't know which way to turn? I started thinking about one thing and something else will creep up and poke me on my shoulder. Then I'll have 2 things on my mind and lately it seems like I have 100 things! I won't go into all of them and bore ya'll to death!

I will say I'm missing Kelly really bad. She's going to be moving into another part of Lexington and I wanna go see her and Michael so bad. I'd like to go the weekend of Thanksgiving but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to right now. I haven't even told her I was trying to so she's learning that here....Hi Baby!! I'm not gonna give up though, I'll just be praying harder for this to happen.

Another thing is my last blog....He doesn't get off work til 11pm and won't get home til 12am so maybe ya'll can help me out before then and I can erase this part.

I have been in love before, twice as a matter of fact. The first time was my first love and it lasted a long time before we...hell grew apart or whatever you wanna call it. (what would you call it Jim?) Your first love is something you never ever forget especially me since it gave me 2 beautiful daughters. It being the first love...I'm not calling Jim an it, might have at one time but not now! LOL!! No really were friends,tell'em Jim.

The second time...well I don't think I loved him when I married him and once I started to love him, it was to late. The 1st love was all young and giddy, heck I was 13 when I met him and 16 when we got married. The 2nd was more like security I guess. That's really the only way I know to describe it.

What I'm feeling now...It's not like either one of those. It's both of those and so so much more. Both of us have been hurt and we both wanted to go slow. We have been dating 7 months and we've talked about what we want, we want the same things. Neither one of us has mentioned love. I sit and wonder if I tell Britt I love him what will he do? What if he doesn't feel like that? What if I scare the hell out of him and he runs off? Should I wait andsee if hesays it first? I think he knows, hell he should! I feel like he has strong feelings for me. He does alot of things that shows his feelings but he doesn't voice them. AH!

Ya'll help me out! What do I do? Keep my mouth shut and wait? Tell him how I feel and see where that goes? I feel like if I don't tell him that I'm going to explode!!

I've honestly never felt like this....I don't know what to do! OK we have 3 hours....help me out my friends!

Yes i said challenge, It's been a lil while and I finally had an idea. This challenge is to name 15 things that get on your last nerve....off the top of your head. Now all I have to do is remember which 15 I posted at that other site that ATE my blog....does that remind you of anyone? OK here goes....
1. Cars that pass you just to turn when they get in front of you...without signaling.
2. Paris Hilton....need I say more?
3. Rude cashiers! The other day I had one that was leaning all up on her register and TEXTING! TEXTING!! I wish I was her boss....
4. Being ignored...
5. FAKE people. Come on do they really think they have people fooled?
6. Liars, lying, decievers, users.... (I think this is 4)
7. Waiting in line at the bank...and waiting...and waiting....
8. Yahoo! (yep, I said it!)
9. Exes....mine is getting on my nerves. His gets on my nerves too.
10. Alarm clocks....especially Britts,he hits snooze way to many times. ank ank ank ank ank ank ank....
11. you is pretty, sexy lady, i make love with you, marry me, i know to make you feel good, you need me sex....come on! I know I'm not the only one getting these request on IM! I'm pretty good at ignoring them until they Buzz me! That's just rude!
12. Disrespect, especially when someone is disrespecting older people. I won't even get started on the lil snot-nosed kids.
13. Spam (the internet kind, I actually like the meat kind)
14. Trying to do a job and not being able to because you can't find all your tools. (not because you lost them either!)
15. Bickering... why? To give Maury and Judge Judy a job?

It's that time again!

MEme Monday with Supah and MommyBrain!

This week is x-tra special to me cause it is as close as I'll get to one of my most favoritest show EVAH!

5 Essential MEme Items  

I cannot  ( hissssss) survive without.

* on a daily basis

* on a deserted island

* with my kids in the car 

We can choose which one and I choose on a daily basis because my kids are grown...well Linzy is almost 15 and not AS annoying as when they are smaller and the girls are like 23 and 26....so this one doesn't apply. I'm thinking I'd have to get on a boat to end uyp on a deserted island and I don't see that happening.

SO 

5 essential items I can not survive witout on a daily basis are....

1. My husband,kids,and family. I think that's pretty self explanatory. Although I could survive without a husband I choose not to.

2. Chapstick. I have tubes of this stuff all over the house, in jacket pockets,my purse and in the winter in my car....too hot here in the summer time.I really do think it is an addiction,it could be worse.

3. My car. Not that I'm in love with it cause I'm not but I do like the idea of having transportation when ever I need or want it. I have been carless before and it is not a good feeling. 

4.My cell phone. How did we live without them? I know I could survive without it but I so don't wanna find out. It is like my life line between me and my loved ones. Kelly lives 600 miles away and I talk to her every day sometimes texting all day....when I lived in Reno,some 2000 miles from my mama in the late 80's I talked to her once a week on Sundays. That is why I love love LOVE my cell phone. 

5. My atenolol. Without it my heart beats too fast and skeers me.

There's 5 of mine although I could add lots more. Y'all go see Supah and MommyBrain and play along!

     

My Saturday...

I have actually done something I wanted to do today...well except for washing clothes. I am making bandana quilts as some Christmas presents this year and I accomplished getting 2 of the quilt tops done this morning..actually I started one last night but ANYWAY.


I'm not going to say who these are for because I don't know if they see my blog or not. Thats 2 down and 4 to go.

The other thing...things I have been doing is making new items for my etsy. I am doing a re-haul on the shop and want to get all new items in it by Oct. 1st. Not sure if I'll make it or not but I'm working on it. I am still trying to clear out the old inventory so I have the BOGO going, come get 2 for the price of 1!

MEme Monday

FIve Fashion MEmestakes (mistakes)

I hope to never. make. again.

I have the song Lets get physical in brain thanks to these 2 mommies! 

1. Members only jackets. I didn't have one but my boyfriend then husband did and he was so cool to me. His was silvery gray. I look back at it now and it was SO NOT COOL.

2. Jeans...TIGHT jeans folded at the bottom and then rolled so they would stay tight. This was a ridiculous look that my brother wore too far into the 90's. (hoping he doesn't read my blog)  Normally I would have on my high top LA Gear tennis shoes with the 2 velcro straps at the top while wearing the tight rolled jeans back in the day.

3. Ponytails on the side..and high ones at that. *enuff said* 

4. stirrup pants- Why? My daughter called me last week cause she was at the mall and came across a pair of stirrup pants...in 2009! She called cause she found it funny. Not only did I dress like that I dressed my kids like that too. *hangs head in shame*

5. Leg-warmers. Remember those? You usually wore them with the stirrup pants.

...and that's why I keep singing Lets get physical!
