This lady is a imposter!

She stole my body!

...And the one she left in its place is not up to par.
It won't do what I want it to do and my mind knows it can do.
It doesn't look the same.

It has bones that hurt.
It has a heart that races.
It has lines on its face that can't possibly be MINE!
It has eyelashes that aren't thick like mine.
It puts shingles on me, hurts like crazy THAT time of the month and its eyes are blurry.

It grows fingernails that I was never able to grow....wait, that's a plus.

I will gladly pay whatever reward it is asking for the safe return of my body.

I want ME back.

My Saturday

I finished this hat tonight for my pastors daughter. She is such a cutie and likes to wear hats.
I'm horrible at following patterns. I usually rework it my own way and that's not always good. The flower is detachable so she can wear with or without.

We had a yard sale today at Nikkis and I made $75. Not bad at all considering I said I wasn't going to get up at 5:30am and load the truck to drive 45 minutes to maybe sale something. I really didn't have much but you know what they say about one mans junk being anothers treasure.

After the sale Evette, Nikki's MIL and my newest friend :), took me, Drex and the girls to eat mexican food...My fav! It was fun to sit and eat and laugh with girls. In my honest opinion I don't get as much girl time as I NEED or want.
I was so use to girls being the majority in the house and now I'm the only girl....even our dog Butter is a boy.

But he loves me best. :)

Well I'm off to try and read and comment on some blogs.....we used our bytes up AGAIN...grrrrrr!

Ready Set GO

Looks like our first major storms are about to hit Arkansas. They are saying tornadoes all over the state. Its very windy at my house and north of me they are saying the tornado warning sirens are going off.

I HATE this kind of weather.

I'm sitting on the porch watching the leaves blow like crazy and hoping that keeps up because when it gets real still is when I get scared.

Yall have a good one.

Read and Share Stories About Jesus- book review

Book Description

From the bestselling Read and Share® Bible, 13 stories from the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. These time-honored favorites include: The Man Who Ate Locusts, John Baptizes Jesus, Jesus Heals a Sick Boy, Jesus Brings a Girl Back to Life, Jesus Walks on Water, Jesus Loves the Children, Zacchaeus, A Blind Man Sees Again, Jesus Stops a Storm, One Lost Sheep, Jesus' Best Friends, One Man Says Thank You, and Jesus Goes to Heaven.

My Review
I absolutely loved this book. First of all it is a hard back book and all of the pages are very sturdy. I know that when Drex gets older he can read it himself and not tear the pages.  The pictures are big and bright and at the end of each story, which is a page or two long, there are little boxes that have questions or comments about that particular story.
Like in the story Jesus Loves Children it says-
If you were one of the children who got to meet Jesus, what would you say to him?
I like this because it really gets the kids involved in telling what they think about the story. It kinda help the story stay in their head.
I also like that after the title of each story it has the scripture reference so you could easily find it in the bible and read the story as originally written.
Buy it- Thomas Nelson or Amazon

CLOSED-AN UNLIKELY BLESSING- Book Review and Giveaway

About the book:
An Unlikely Blessing is a heartfelt story about a new pastor and life-long city dweller Alex Armstrong, who reluctantly accepts his first assignment, a two-point parish in the wilds of North Dakota. Hilltop Township, a farming community, blooms from the prairie like a wild pink rose—lovely and prickly all at once, much like the people who live there.
Unlikely

Alex quickly finds that this lovely place is in quiet peril. Farmers are struggling to make ends meet: Jonas Owens, a faithful member of Hilltop parish, is on the brink of losing the farm. Alex believes that part of why God called him to Hilltop was to help turn things around, and steps in with ideas for saving the Owens' land. But can even God's minister help save this rural community?

There are a lot of firsts for the new pastor—the annual Hunter's Breakfast, julebukking (also called Christmas fooling), King Oscar's fish balls, and the melody of the musical saw. And the new, single pastor creates remarkable excitement among the unmarried women in the community. If you could die of hot dish overdose, Alex would be a dead man. Whether performing weddings, counseling his flock, or herding cattle by snowmobile, Alex soon discovers that his new church home has as much to teach him as he will teach them. Day by day, he falls more in love with the people of Hilltop Church. People may leave Hilltop, but Hilltop never leaves them.

My Review:

I would love to live in a town like Hilltop, A small church where everyone knows everyone and friendly is very appealing to me.
It was very easy to connect with the characters in this book and I look forward to reading book #2 in the series. With all the single ladies in the town I'm sure Alex, the pastor, will find love with one lucky lady. The ladies also love to cook for Alex and this recipe sounds so good I plan on trying it soon!
Puppy Chow
From the Kitchen of Gandy Dunn
* ½ cup butter (some people leave this out)
* 1 cup creamy peanut butter
* 2 cups chocolate chips (sometimes I use semisweet chocolate, which is good too)
* Crispy rice or corn cereal squares (9 cups or a box worth)
* 1 pound powdered confectioner's sugar (experiment - you can probably use a little less)
Melt the butter, peanut butter and chocolate in a saucepan. Pour it over the cereal, tossing it gently until it is well coated.

I recommend this book to everyone. I read it in 2 nights...only because I fell asleep...which is my fault because I was so tired, I could have finished it in one night. It was that good.

Judy was born and grew up on a farm on the prairies of North Dakota. An only child, she spent most of her days with imaginary people—either those she read about or those she made up in her head. Her most ambitious conjuring did not succeed, however. She kept a clean stall with fresh hay and oats for the horse she imagined would arrive. Unfortunately it didn’t come, at least not until she was an adult. After she was unexpectedly given three horses, she bought even more and began raising foundation quarter horses.  As an adult,  she managed to make that dream come true and raised foundation quarter horses and buffalo for some years. A voracious reader, Judy learned to read with comic books, anything from Little Lulu and Superman to the Rawhide Kid. She sold her first story for $10.00 to a farm magazine. She still has the $10.00.

She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota with majors in English and education and a minor in religion. At the time, she was simply studying what interested her, but now realizes that she was educating herself for her future career as a Christian writer. Her first book was written with a toddler on her lap. Judy would type a few words and say “Now, Jennifer.” He two year old daughter would hit the space bar so Judy could continue writing. It was’t the fastest way to work but it was a very cozy time.
In 2001 Judy became a certified professional life coach. In 2008 Judy completed her Master’s program. She studied in the areas of writing and coaching. Now certified in three coaching disciplines, Judy coaches primarily professional and aspiring writers. She is also a faculty advisor in the Department of Human Development at St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis, MN.   Judy Baer is the author of over seventy-five books for adults and teens. She has won the Romance Writer of America Bronze Medallion and has been a RITA finalist twice. She lives in Elk River, Minnesota with her husband, two daughters and three step children.  She grew up in rural North Dakota and has done many of the things her Hilltop characters experience.  Follow the Hilltop characters on Judy’s blog and find out more about Judy and her books at http://www.judykbaer.com

STUFF...and more stuff..and stuffier stuff you stuff with.

It has been a few beautiful days here in Arkansas! Today it got in the 70s...the 70s!!! Last week it was all snow and freezing. I pray this weather stays!

It was so pretty Drex was able to play on the porch at home. He loves being outside.

His Nana sent this pic...or I stole it off FB...anyway, He pulled himself up in his crib. Time to lower the mattress!
This is some yummy yarn I'm making into a cocoon and matching hat for a little lady that's getting ready to make her appearance. It's going to have the fun fur around the top of the cocoon and bottom of the hat. I hope her mama likes it and she looks darling in it!

Know a baby getting ready to come? Wanna cute cocoon to wrap that bundle in? Email me and I bet we can get ya exactly what ya want!

Survivor starts tonight! Temptation Island will premiere and I think it's good they are changing it up a bit. I'm not happy about Boston Rob and Russell being back. I mean, they had their chanceS. let someone else get a chance to win. I'm not real fond of bringing back past winners. If the other survivors don't get rid of them right away then they bring it all on their selves. I kinda like Rob but I do not like Russell...not even a little bit.

I'm off tomorrow so I plan on getting caught up on socialmoms.com tweets and some book reviews and giveaways.

If I didn't work I'm sure I'd go completely insane.....

I have been stuck in the house to many days for over a week now! The sun did come out today and melted a lot of the snow...although I'm sure it will refreeze tonight, especially in the shady areas. I WILL be going to work tomorrow! I might not make it at 9am like I want but I will be there...and if not there I will be at one of the houses I missed because of Arkansas trying to be like other states and getting a ridiculous amount of snow and cold weather. This isn't the "norm" for us!

This weekend we are suppose to be getting temps in the 60s...THAT is the "norm" for us. That is the "norm" I like and WANT!

Seriously folks this weather sucks bad when you have something wrong with you that cold weather attacks. I think of my memaw and her having one of the men in church turn off the ceiling fan above her pew because the air from it made her shoulder hurt. I'd sit there and rub it and truth be told wonder..."Is it really that bad?"
I'm so sorry for thinking that memaw...cause as I sit here and type my shoulder is aching so bad.
I miss you*

OK So there are a few PROS about the bad weather-

We did get the carpet laid in our bedroom! WooHoo!! Did it our self too, saved some money AND it looks good. Makes my room look like it jumped out of a magazine if I say so myself.

I got the closet cleaned out...couldn't let it stay the way it was with the room looking so SWEET!

I started a knitted hat for ...well I don't know who for. It's cute though and it's camo. Maybe a giveaway? Whatcha think?

I crocheted a few headbands for a friend who is having a baby girl!!

I'm sure there are more pros but I can't think of any right now.

The #1 CON would be this crazy headache that will not go away! If I don't stay busy I tend to get stiff because of the AS and I get a headache. Hoping that going back to work tomorrow makes it go away. Not to fail to mention that I miss Drex. His daddy sent me this pic today.

On to something else!

Have you seen my giveaways?

The Help

Three ordinary women are about to take one extraordinary step. Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.

Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.

Minny, Aibileen's best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody's business, but she can't mind her tongue, so she's lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.

Seemingly as different from one another as can be, these women will nonetheless come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women--mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends--view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Description

Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life -- boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies -- he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the appealing redhead seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him...and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn't help. Despite himself, Travis can't stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent efforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts us with the most heart-wrenching question of all: How far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

Ramblings

Last week I was home bound for 3 days because of weather and now we are in a winter weather advisory....again. It makes me feel-

I am so ready for some warm weather!!!!!!!

So did yall watch the superbowl? I didn't...I just don't get into football if the Hogs are not playing. I use to love it, not any more. I'm on the computer while they watch it. I don't even care who is playing or about the commercials...bad?
I don't care.

After church today we all went to mamas and Kelly had fixed lunch. It was so good! Then we had turtle pie, nom nom nom! It was really good. My nephew wanted mama to buy it because he always wondered what turtle tasted like. LOL That kid cracks me up all the time. He's the same one I jumped out of the closet to scare during our blogger survivor last year.

Drex was in the best mood, he kept laughing....not sure if we were funny or he was trying to amuse us but if so it worked. Kelly got a great pic of his laughing, I love the sound!

This is his big laugh...

To all my FOLLOWERS I have a follower love giveaway I am participating in and will be giving away 1 audio book (Best one I have EVER listened to) and 2 Nicholas Sparks books. I will have 2 winners and it goes live on Feb 8 at 12:01 AM. There will be a form to fill out to enter and it makes it so easy! No more comment after comment and jumping through hoops!!

Are you sick and tired of this????

I am! I don't ever remember having this much cold weather here.
In 2000 we were without electric for 2 weeks (except for a day it came on and went back off next day) and it was cold but after it was gone it was gone! This keeps coming back.
I hope everyone stays warm and safe! I'm staying in the house and try not to go stir crazy.

Trying to get caught up!

Nikki had a broken mini blind hanging on the window on her door. It would frustrate me every time I went to her house! So one day I brought it home and google how to make roman shaded....I think that's what I googled, it's been that long since I made it. It was super easy and she loved the end result. I wish I had taken a before pic but I didn't and I wish I remembered which tutorial I used so I could give credit but I didn't. I'm bad about looking at a bunch of tutorials and using what I glean from several to do things my way.

Here are 2 easy tutorials here and here if anyone is interested.
Right now I'm working on a quilt for some special people....ha, the way I work it might be done in time for Christmas! It's hopefully going to be a BIG one.
I'm also planning on working on some pillows and I want to make covers for the pillows I have in the sunroom. The ones in there right now are brown tones and I'm wanting that room to be bright and cheery.

If anyone reading this has a tutorial for a shopping cart cover for Drex I'd appreciate it. I need an EASY one. I'm having a hard time figuring out the ones I have found and there's not many out there. Can't seem to wrap my head around it for some reason.

Ok I'm going to go do something productive....maybe.

The mobile I made months ago.....

Months ago when Drex looked like this I seen somewhere on a blog and I forget where...forgive please...a mobile so I made one to hang over Drex's changing table. He loves it and that pleases me. *insert big grin here*

I cut out a ton of circles and sewed a ribbon down the middle of two circles put back to back.

Then I had this round thing...not sure what it was or where I got it and I wound ribbon around it tight and hot glued the ribbons with the circle on it.

 EAZY PEAZY!
In this picture it's hanging from my ceiling fan and that is not the color of my wall..it looks yellow on my computer.
