...Long Day

My day started out with me over sleeping and ended with me having supper after 9pm. Bad bad time to eat supper.
Drex had his 2 week check up and the dr says he looks perfect! He is at 9 lbs...turning into a little chunk already. He cried his first tear today and it about broke mine and his mamas heart.
I'm in bed and going to sleep. Its been a long day and I am physically and emotionally wore out.
I promise to catch up soon!

10 THOUGHTS TUESDAY

1. I'm hoping to get to blog more often than I have been in the last ...year?...I miss blogging like I use to do it. I would blog every day about something going on. I'm going to try to get back to that "therapy."

2. Wednesday Drex goes to the Dr for his 2 week check up. He seems to be doing really well. He has grown a lot since he was born and I think his mama wants to slow him down. She gets to stay home with him until Sept. 25th I know it's going to be so hard to go back to work.

3. Kelly starts working today as a secretary for a construction company. She also may be going back to Kentucky. I would be lying if I said I was excited about that but she has to choose what she wants to do and I can't tell her what to do. :( (If your reading this I am not trying to make you feel bad) Whatever she chooses I just want her to be happy.

4. Drex acts like he forgets how to latch on...any advice? I never breast fed so I'm at a loss as to what to tell Nikki. We will be asking his dr about it on Wed.

5. If you have been reading for a long time (Oka,Rhonda) you might  remember a young lady I use to take to school back when I was volunteering at my church,Alex is her name. She recently moved back into town and is living with Kelly. Her family lived in my neck of the woods and went to my church. Well her brother was in a car wreck last week and is in ICU with a badly damaged body. He is in a coma and the drs. are not really giving much hope for him to survive. I know he's having a hard time with his temp rising right now and they are worried about that. Today it's 104+ and I guess it's just a waiting thing. If you pray will you please remember JJ in your prayers?
Alex and I earlier this year at graduation

6. Drex was 14 days old on Monday....that time has passed so very fast! He lost his cord the other night and his mama texted me to let me know. She said "He's growing up to fast!" HAHA! *she has no idea how fast they grow up.*

7. It's been so hot this year! Our heat index today (Monday) was 104 and it felt like every degree. My plants were happy though because it rained HARD yesterday afternoon. I loved it!

8. I'm getting hungry and running out of thoughts......

9. I have contacted several companies recently and hope to have some new giveaways coming up soon.

10. I think I'm going to have some tomato soup with rotel tomatoes and cheetos...I don't even care about the calories right now since I haven't ate all day!
Yall have a wonderful day!!

Conversational Sunday *featuring me and Kelly AND me and Nikki*

Conversational Sunday

I'm joining Brittany in her new meme Conversational Sunday!
If she gets 10 people to link up she's having a random giveaway from for the linkers....so GO!

My conversation was with Kelly, the other day I kidnapped (with his mamas permission) Drex and went down the road with him to my mom and dads. It was me,my parents,Kelly, my brother Steven and his son Jonathan....yall know him, he's the one I videoed screaming when I jumped outta the closet at him! HAHAHA!!!

Ok so we were talking about how everyone that holds Drex just stares at him. All of us do it! he's just so precious!

After my brother gets Drex and we catch him staring at him Kelly lies down on the couch and puts her head in my lap...here's the convo-

Kelly- Could you just stare at me like people stare at Drex?

ME- Yes if you didn't have me laughing right now.

Kelly- Try it... (then she starts sticking out her tongue like Drex does)

ME- (laughing) It's kinda hard when you do that. You had your turn at me staring at you and saying things like..."Aww she is so pretty, I wonder if she'll ever grow hair on the top of her head."

When she was a baby she looked like a lil ol man with a bald head and a bald mouth! Her hair grew around the bottom nbut not on top. HAHAHA!!!
She has plenty on top now!

CONVO #2

Convo with Nikki about Drex breast feeding (she might kill me)

Me- Drex wants to go to the boob cafe..

Nikki- That's all I am now days!
Drex and his mama and daddy

Ahhhh motherhood!

I Don't Feel Like A Grandma.....

To me grandmas are older ladies that have gray hair and are like 70+ in age. I don't even see my mama as a geandma...she's mam. I have absolutely nothing against grandmas,I actually love them. I had a wonderful one.....I just called her memaw. Me? I'm a Mimi and this Mimi can not get enough of her grandson. Britt is a Pops and he's a wonderful Pops. If Drex decides to call us something else when he gets old enough to start calling us something that is fine but until then we will stay Mimi and Pops.

He looks like a chunk in this pic but he's really not. When we took him for his 1st check up Friday he weighed 7 lbs and 6 oz. He gained all the weight back that he lost in the hospital.

Is that not a proud looking pops or what?

Yall...He smells so good.

Thank you all for bearing with me and my not forgotten blog...I'm just soaking up all I can of this boy.

A Makeup Primer with Caffeine?

About two years ago I used a makeup primer and fell in love! Only problem was I couldn't afford to keep using that particular primer. So when I was given the opportunity to review Youthful Trends Caffeinated Makeup Primer I jumped at it.
From the site-

Youthful Trends Makeup Primer is the world's first caffeinated primer with 100% natural ingredients. Makeup primers are all the rage these days, and they are used to help set your makeup and reduce the appearance of lines while absorbing oils and binding makeup to the skin. Unlike sticky primers and serums, this water based spray dries evenly while hydrating skin and tightening lines. Our spray also helps pores breathe and keeps makeup looking beautiful all day long. It also reduces facial sweating and protects skin from UV damage. This proprietary formula outperforms all other makeup primers and one bottle lasts for many months. It's fantastic stuff works for all skin types and colors, as well as all types of makeup including mineral powders, creams and liquids. Supercharge your makeup regimen today for flawless beauty with the world's first caffeinated skin primer.

I received my sample at the best time possible. The temps here in Arkansas are hitting high 90's and the heat index is 100+. I helped Kelly move not once but twice in the heat and I was a hot mess. (One of Kel's phrases) I was sweaty and what made it worse was I was having to dodge wasp! I have to say though this primer was wonderful! My makeup was actually still on my face when I got home. I figured I would be all freckled out but no the primer stayed in place and that helped my makeup do the same.

I also wore it when Nikki had Drex...we were at the hospital a long time! I cried many tears that night and yes the primer even works with tears!

This primer is really affordable compared to some of the others out right now. It's on sale for $27.49 AND I was given a special coupon code for my readers! Just use the code (SHEBLOGS) at either YouthfulTrends.com or Greensations.com and get 25% off your bottle of the caffeniated makeup primer!

While your visiting the sites check out the capsaicin skin care products at Greensations.com

I would like to try the ThermaSkin face fixing soap.
They say it's like botox in a bottle....real botox scares and intrigues me so I need to try this one!

CSN Stores review on George Foreman Grill

A while back I received a George Foreman Grill from CSN Stores to review. Here are just a few of the features of the grill I received.

Features:

  • Grill channels fat and grease in to separate drip tray for healthier eating
  • Durable George Tough Triple non-stick coating
  • Cooks over twice as fast as conventional cooking methods
  • Removable, dishwasher safe grill plates for easier cleaning
  • Floating hinge allows you to evenly cook extra thick food and sandwiches
  • Versatile: can cook vegetables, any meat or fish (fresh or frozen) and paninis

The first thing I made was a grilled cheese and it turned out perfect! Then I tried a  panini and burgers, yummy! The hardest thing was probably fresh squash and although it took a little longer they too were awesome. I'm using this grill all the time and highly recommend it. Not only is the food great but it's healthier too. I loved seeing the fat from the burgers go into the drip tray and not stay on my meat.
One of the things I like most about the George Foreman grill is I can have grilled food without going into the heat and cooking it! It is super hot here in Arkansas so that is a big plus.
Cleaning is super easy, the grill plates are removable! I had a grill a long time ago where the plates were not removable and it was a pain to clean ....not this one, they pop right off and clean up good.
The only thing I haven't tried that I want to try is chicken breast. I think that's my next experiment on my new grill!

MONDAY MINUTE

It's time for Monday Minute with Ian and guest host Michelle from Mommy loves Stilettos.

Monday Minute

What's your real name?

Lisa but I also go by Leese,Mimi and mama
Have you ever fabricated a story or anything on your blog?

Absolutely not! I had a friend once who did that and I remember how he lost so many friends, he totally made himself into someone else.
When in the car do you listen to the radio/CDs/iPod/etc?

Here lately I have been listening to the audio book I won from Bethany. It's called The Help and I love it! It's almost over and I wanna get the book and read it now. When I don't have a book to listen to I will listen to music and I flip stations a lot listening to all kinds of music....not real picky and depends on mood.
Describe the 'sexiest' item of clothing that you own

I seriously do not have a clue! My hubby would probably say some tight jeans...I don't know.

Would you be willing to breastfeed your friend's three year old child?

NO! I commented to someone and told them a 3yr old should be eating peanut butter sandwiches and drinking from a cup.

WINNERS WINNERS WINNERS!!!!

First of all I want to say a big thank you to all of you who have sent emails, commented, texted, facebooked and tweeted about Drex! He is absolutely adorable and yummy!!

Tooth Fairy Pillow *review*

IMG00039.jpg
A month or so ago I was at a Toothsoap Party on Twitter and I won a Tooth Fairy Pillow! It's not just any ordinary pillow though. It's personalized! I had Drex's name put on it and a train. Drex's Pops works on trains so it seemed appropriate. I know it will be years before he will be able to use it but it will be at Mimi's waiting for that first tooth to fall out so the Toothfairy can put money in the little pocket on the pillow.

The Toothfairy offers toothfairy pillows and has many different designs and they are adorable! I wish I had one for my girls when they were small. They are the perfect size 6"X8" for little hands and heads.

So when you get ready to purchase one *wink wink* make sure and visit the Toothfairy and choose from 80+ designs and personalization is FREE! She ships in the USA only and she's a Certified Dental Assistant online! That means she knows her stuff!

Trying to catch yall up! *a little graphic*

So last night around 9pm Nikki calls and says when she went to the bathroom that something gushed out. I told her to go to or call hospital. The nurse tells her it sounds like her mucus plug and to wait a while and if it soaks anything again to call back.
Around 11pm she calls again and says it has done it again and calls the hospital again. This time they tell her it was her mucus plug (I've had 2 kids and never knew about a mucus plug!)and if it was her water (I've had 2 kids and my water never broke on it's own, the dr did it both times)it wouldn't have waited 2 hours to do it again so we wait some more.
Nikki was told if you go to hospital call me (I live an hour away) Soooo at 5am I get a text, it says, I'm fine. went to hospital and they say my water hasn't broke and I'm only dilated to 2. They said she would probably have contractions until either her water broke or they induced which will be Tuesday am.
I called her a bit ago and her contractions aren't as strong as they were last night and not as close so we wait......again.

Don't miss out on the contest! Can you guess when Drex will be born? Go a step farther and tell me how much you think he will weigh.

Why will my phone let me send a sms message to blogger and it will post and I can't send a mms so that i can have a longer post? It says I'm suppose to be able to do that. If any of you are blackberry/blogger post savvy please fill me in.

2 false alarms tonight! I hope I keep my sanity until this boy gets here!

How about a contest?

Nikki went to the dr today and they picked a date to induce...if Drex doesn't come on his own.
So Tuesday the 13th I will finally see my 1st grandbaby in the flesh! I am so excited!!!!

I thought it would be fun to have a contest to see who could get to the closes time of birth. If you want to play a long comment what time you think he will make an appearance and the winner with the first correct answer will get one of my handpainted personalized signs. I thought I had more pictures to show of them but I cleaned them all off the computer. :(

This one is my mom and dad's with Drex's behind it.
If your interested just leave a comment with a time. If you think he will be born on any day other than the 13th leave the date too.
