MONDAY MINUTE!! AND Meet me on Monday! PLUS I'm posting early.

I'm doing a twofer this week...maybe that will make up for my lack of blogging lately...maybe?

First I'm joining Java with Meet Me On Monday. 

Questions: 

1. Do you wear socks to bed?

NO I don't wear socks to bed....my toes need to breathe.

2. Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have Daisy and Butter. Daisy will be 10 this month and she is my lil chiwowwow and Butter adopted us this past summer, he's a lab mix and very loving.

3. What topping(s) do you like on your pizza?

All of them except sausage and anchovies. I like to fix my own sausage and pizza sausage never seems done to me and I've never tried anchovies....don't have a desire to try them either.

4. What time do you go to bed?

I usually hit it about 10 but I will lie in there and read for an hour or two before I actually fall asleep.

5. Would you rather get free chocolate for one year or free potatoes forever?

Free potatoes...I love chocolate but not that much. FYI- I just tweeted about chocolate,seems every one is talking about it today.

1. If you could interview any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?  What would you ask?

I would like to interview Stephen King. I'd love to know how his brain works and where or how he comes up with the ideas for his books.

2.  You have to give up one thing for a month.  What would it be - car, guilty pleasure (ie. food, drink, fav. tv show), or sex?

I would say guilty pleasure and choose food which would be mexican. I haven't been able to eat hardly anything for a month now so I'm sure I'd survive.

3.  Is there a word/phrase you say that you are made fun of for?  If so, what is it?

I say awight for alright and get made fun of sometimes for that. I live in the South so any time I talk to any Northerners I get made fun of....they are just jealous though.

4. Which is a stronger emotion: Anger or Love?


I think hate is a stronger emotion because it takes so much from us to keep hate going. It gives us stress and unhappiness and takes a lot of energy. It eats us up on the inside and usually the person were hating couldn't care less.

MONDAY MINUTE

As most of you know, I am on a blog break.  I will be posted here and there with no regularity.  So instead of posting the Monday Minute once a week and that being my lone post, I decided to hand over the Monday Minute to my friends Heather and Melissa, permanently.  They have graciously accepted to carry on the tradition of the Monday Minute for me.  This week's Monday Minute marks the 10th month straight, thanks for participating.  Heather can be found at In the Land of Crazy, and Melissa can be found at Day to Day Living.  They have also decided to continue with the random draws for co-hosts.

annoying- The activia commercial where the man says "This is so good" or something like this with his mouth full. I can't stand that commercial!

Facebook- It's after 12 and I'm still in my night clothes....I don't even feel bad about it either. I also hear thunder!! on Thursday clear

I was named after a 2 women on a soap opera...Another World or some crazy old show like that.

Have you ever fabricated a story or anything on your blog?  

Absolutely not! I had a friend once who did that and I remember how he lost so many friends, he totally made himself into someone else.
When in the car do you listen to the radio/CDs/iPod/etc?

Here lately I have been listening to the audio book I won from Bethany. It's called The Help and I love it! It's almost over and I wanna get the book and read it now. When I don't have a book to listen to I will listen to music and I flip stations a lot listening to all kinds of music....not real picky and depends on mood.
Describe the 'sexiest' item of clothing that you own

I seriously do not have a clue! My hubby would probably say some tight jeans...I don't know. 

Would you be willing to breastfeed your friend's three year old child?

NO! I commented to someone and told them a 3yr old should be eating peanut butter sandwiches and drinking from a cup.

Who of all your blog friends would you like to meet and/or who have you met?  

I met one friend and it was a long time ago. She was a friend on 360 and I happen to see her walking into walmart when she came to town to visit family. It was actually pretty cool although we didn't get to talk long.

I hate saying who I woul like to meet because I would like to meet almost all of you. If I had to choose just a few I would say-

Oka- cause she's my oldest URL friend on blogger

Tammy- I think we would have so much fun and laugh like there's no tomorrow.

Tracy- She's from here and we have chatted on the bb msgr a few times. I think we would have a great time too.

 

What kind of vehicle(s) do you drive?

I drive a hyundai accent, I had a jeep cherokee and when gas got so high and I paid $200 a week once for it I traded it in. I love the gas mileage with the accent but feel very vulnerable in it so I'm going to trade it in soon. I drive a lot. I have had it 2 years and have put almost 60,000 miles on it. 

What kind of cell phone do you have?

Anyone who really "knows" me on here already knows I have a blackberry and I love it.

I sadly do not have a bucket list....I keep meaning to make one but I haven't done it yet.

1. Has anyone you've known personally lived to at least 100?

No I haven't, My memaw was 10 days from being 90 when she passed and I work for a man who is 95 and only takes aleve for arthritis he got in the past year. If I live the next 5 years my answer could be yes if he keeps on like he is going.

2. What material possession do you value the most?

This is a toss up between my car and my blackberry. Not that my car is something fantastic because it's not but because of it I can get where I want to go.

My blackberry is always right next to me.....sad but true.

3. What do you think happens to us after we die?

I think we go to heaven or hell.

4. Most embarrassing item in your house?

The table beside Britt's chair? I really don't know. But he is always hoarding things on the table and under.

My back porch is kinda embarrassing too, it's a mess and it's to hot to get out there and clean it up!

5. If you could rename yourself, what would your name be?

Roxie, that's my memaws name and it's different. You don't hear it all the time. There are a lot of Lisa's out there....especially around my age.

I think it was an accident and everybody yelling for them to do something is not going to accomplish anything. I believe that BP is doing all they know to do...they don't want to waste all this oil....it's hurting them too.

4 - What's your favorite Dr. Suess book?
Green Eggs and Ham? I don't know really cause I LOVE all of them books!

I always wanted to be a teacher..then I volunteered at the academy at church for 2 years. I LOVE the kids but can't handle it. My hats off to all the teachers! I have much respect for them!

I have a cousin who recently got back from Iraq. He was over there for almost a year. He's stationed in TX. right now and expecting his first baby.

2 - Have you or a family member served his/her country in times of war?

Same cousin as above...people who say we aren't at war are wrong in my opinion.

3 - What's your favorite BBQ food?

Chicken...legs to be exact with Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce. YUM!

4 - Do you fart in public?

Where did this come from?

No.

5 - What's the one question that if it shows up on a Monday Minute, you refuse to take part?

Probably something that has to do with politics. I have my opinion and will not argue with someone over it. My opinion is usually much more to the conservative side than a lot of folks.

I have several nicknames. Some bloggy friends call me kssnnikkel. My mama calls me Sister. I have cousins that call me Leese. One brother has been to known to call me Essie May (shut up!) and another brother that called me Dodo...a long time ago and I'm so glad he grew out of that. He would embarrass the crap outta me.

3 - Do you know sign language?


No...well very little. I can sign Jesus loves me,or most of it. I plan on learning though because we are going to teach Drex to sign.

4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?


I'm washing dishes and Linzy comes walking in.
Linzy- My mom took me to see Avatar.
Me- Cool, did you like it.
Linzy- Yeah it was actually better than I thought it would be.
Me- I want to see it too, I'll get it on netflix though.

He ends every conversation with oooook. I don't know if that's a period or what. I'll be cooking or something and he'll just stand there for a bit and then say oook...nothing else. I have begin saying ok back just because it seems like I should say something. Life with a 15 year old!

I don't actually sleep with my blackberry (ok..I have been known too but not normally) but it is close by.....very close by.

I'm sure I have! I was once a kid you know...now as an adult I can't say I have. My ex-inlaws had this stuff in their pool that would turn red if someone peed in the pool....I always think about that when I'm in a pool and need to pee.

I think it is most peoples...My biggest pet peeve is someone lying to me! I might not ever call you out on it but I never forget and will always 2nd guess every word you utter.

My blog title  has always been my email addy. KSSN is from a big country radio station in my state, KSSN 96. My kids are named Nikki and Kelly so Kssn+Nik+Kel = I love KSSNNIKKEL pronounced kissin nik kel.

On to Monday Minute....

1 - How old do you act?
I think I pretty much act my ago...although I'm 43 and feel about 38 most days...on bad ones 73...so you pick BUT when I'm around kids I'm into whatever they are doing. I love racing with them...and cheating.
2 - As far back as you can remember, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher...I volunteered for a few years and it's hard work. I don't want to be one any more and have mucho respect for the men and women who do teach!
3 - If you were to write a book based on your life, what would the title be?
Me and Mine

4 - What's something that you do that's considered "childish" by most?
Hmmm I really ...really am mature. I do make faces at my nieces and nephews...ok at my dad too. I'm normally not too whiney but I have been feeling HORRIBLE for 2 days and probably have been a bit.
5 - The last question isn't a question.  Write a story of a time of when you or someone you know overcame great adversity.
Mines been posted before but I have a friend who almost 1.5 years ago within 2 weeks went from working 16 hour days as an RN to walking with a walker. She went to countless doctors and became a human sponge she had so many test ran. I'm surprised she doesn't glow. It took over a year for her to FINALLY get diagnosed. She was diagnosed with MD and has begin taking shots for the MD. She has went from walker to cane and has recently even started driving again. She should be going back to work soon.
